Started with an empty booth.
10 feet across by 6 feet deep. My dad made some shelves, and we started with a 10 foot section of wallpaper, some white fabric, curtains, and valences.
Going for that ‘Shabby Sheik” look. LOTS of up and downs from the ladder, sitting across from our booth. Doing the confused head turn. Wondering if this will work out.
After lots of tacks, staple guns and coffee. We were able to get some sort of design down. (note of thanks to my dad, Carrots. He built the shelves, and attempted to help us decorate, but I had to shoo him away) My dad said “DO NOT climb on those shelves, they are NOT meant for you to sit on… I mean it” in his sternest dad voice, to his 32 year old daughter, and wife.
Quickly after dad left (he probably wasn’t even out of the parking lot) I scrambled up the ladder with my trusty coffee, and we hung valences, and curtains.
My mom brought a bunch of white fabric, to set on the shelves, I came up with an idea to cover the walls, and shelves with it. Awesome.
Lunch consisted of Pringles for the Queen and I. Nothing says brain fuel like cheese covers chips.
All in all we worked ALL afternoon, started at 11:30 am, ended around 6 pm. With this…
It’s an eclectic collection of us. Things from our homes, our past. Some new, some really old. Some home made. The thing is Queen and I have always wanted to have our own store. More of a craft store, with things we make, and supplies for others to create.
But this is just getting our feet wet, see how we work together. Well I think we will do great. Hell we’ve been quiet the team for 32 years now.
