Let’s go with what’s freshest in my mind, and that would be about 30 seconds ago. This weekend was PACKED with back to back fun, and events. I actually enjoyed being busy. I have to say now that my postpartum and regular depression seems to be going away, I am wanting to connect with all my old friends, start anew, recreate me, and do the things I’ve wanted to do more then ever.
Back to the Holiday though.
We had fun on the 4th, just like the rest of America. I hosted a small party at me and Spaghetti’s house, it was my mom and MIL
(awww)
Spaghetti’s Grampa (with my mom the Queen)
My crazy FIL, and my dad Carrots.
And of coarse my lovely sister Frances.
Oh and the kids too
Since Spaghetti made a small appearance between jobs (boo hiss) between the hours of 3pm and 430 pm, my dad jumped in and assisted me with the grilling. (BBQ chicken and hotdogs)
My mom made awesome cherry pie squares, I made some brownies, we also had taco salad, and my mom made some kick ass chocolate covered strawberries and pretzels. My MIL makes these kick ass cheesy hash brown potatoes. OMG, SO good.
After dinner, we headed out to the pool, it was about 95 and humid but it had rained (for about 10 minutes) and cooled everything down, so we could enjoy our ALL sun deck (thank you clouds!)
My IL’s and Grampa left around 8:30, so I asked my parents and Susie if they wanted to walk to a gazebo on one of our subdivision walking paths. It’s between the back of houses, and has a HUGE grassy area (supposed to be a park, but it never followed through)
I had gotten a tip that nearby was some pyro’s who spent their hard earned money to drive to Indiana and buy lots of illegal (in Illinois) fireworks to put on a show.
They DID NOT disappoint! Best part was, SO many people were doing it. And we had a great view of at least 6 shows! The Gazebo was a safe haven for the kids, and it was their first official year seeing them!
Bagel with the Queen and Frances
It was SO cute when Weaky would get scared of the BIG booms, he would either run and say “Papa, Papa!” or “Mama, mama” depending on who was closer.
Here’s my two babies at dusk, walking to the grassy area…
And here’s my little “Linus” with his “Fuzzy”
We enjoyed a night of family and memories, now for next year, Spaghetti must have it off work so we can enjoy him too!
Hope everyone had a safe and fun 4th of July!!
