I am very proud today. I am very happy that the 8 years of Republican rein over our country has come to an end. I am happy to have new hope and fresh ideas for our country in need.

I voted for Obama, and as I watched this morning, I cried. As I witnessed the day history is changed. I am proud to say that I stand behind Obama, and his beautiful family.

I am well aware that the changes promised will not happen overnight, in a few months, or even in Obama's 4 years as President. But I do know that he has instilled a positive outlook on this bleak time.

I welcome his ideas, thoughts, and powerful words spoken from his heart. Congrats Obama.

Soap Box Sunday. Very bad words, and Haters.

Haven't done one of these in a while. Let me climb myself up here onto my pretty soapy box, and give you all a piece of my mind...

So a few weeks ago I was at my friends house, doing the usual stamping, and paper crafting we do. It's a business meeting we have, and so with so many different people and there backgrounds there tends to be some interesting conversations.

I have on many occasions stayed till 2 am enjoying the conversation with my friends. Mostly on business, and kids, family, and friends. Sometimes we talk about the taboo subjects. And as of the last time I was there. I left the house, loudly saying "And this is why I can not talk to any of you about Religion, Politics, or Gays" we just don't agree. Leave me out of it.

Let's just say it's hard for me to consider some of these women, who are church going people to be close friends. Some of there ideas and thoughts are extreemly close minded. I am offended by the fact that I was once told that I was "delirious to think that some one being gay was ok. And that I should be prayed for, because I support them." I think that person almost fainted when I told them I proudly attend the Chicago Pride parade with my cousin and his partner.

I also know for a fact that most of the women are strong Christian women, and while religion is great for some, I hate the ones that use it as a crutch to get through life. To say "it's ok, God will forgive me for talking shit about others, I'm only human" WTF. I mean I am so not religious, but I at least don't go around talking all the gossips and being as hatred as some of these regular church goers. But whatever makes you sleep at night.

And now onto Politics. Yikes. All someone said was "Obama" and the whole group was all "who would vote for him" and "what a disgrace" and "I sure didn't vote for him!" Well did shit hit the fan, when I proudly told them that...

and man did the racist comments fly. Holy shit. I thought I was sitting around with my great grandparents or something. I mean really?! He's not all black though? Doesn't matter?? And when I heard the "N" word from a few of there mouths, and repeatedly? Wow.

I found that all the praying and church going won't fix the stupid hate you have in your hearts from someone with just a better tan then you.

I still hang out at the meetings, I do learn alot, and get great ideas. But I have since learned to keep my opinions to myself. I do stand for what I believe in. I stand for gays, black, Democrats, non-religious people, I get that not everyone agrees. But for all the anger twards people you don't even know?

It confuses me.

I know some people were raised that the "N" word was ok. And people get trapped in a era and can't evolve with the rest of the world. It's embarrassing.

I may be white. Female. Living in a Heehaw town, south of Chicago. But I love Hip Hop, Democrats, and my Gay friends and family.

On that note I can't wait for Tuesday. I can't. I am really hoping for an amazingly emotional day. With high hopes, and a motivational President, that I am proud of. Obama, his wife, and children are an amazing example.

I just learned that some people are just not as smart as you thought they were. That being so close minded, and expecting everyone to be the same, and if your not then your looked down on. Well let me just tell you, I am one of those random people.

I like to step outside the box, be creative, different, and open to new things.

I learn everyday. And I can only hope that after Tuesday there is a leader that shows us that this is a possibility. To be open to real ideas, things we really need.

Alright, I am babbling, if your still reading my rant. Congrats. If your as excited about Tuesday as I am. Congrats. For the rest of you. Grow up, stop using ignorant words, and trying to bash things and people, and lifestyle you don't understand.

I hate it when uneducated people try to judge others, because of something there old ass magic book tells them, and some invisible guy tells them. Oh my, here I go on my religious rant... let me stop before I lose the 2 readers I have going for me...

So. Moral of the story. Don't assume because I am white female, married to a male with two kids. I don't rock out to Hip Hop music, and march in a Pride Parade, all while singing Obama's praise!

Manic Monday on Saturday

What is the biggest mistake you made in 2008 and will not make again in 2009?
I had a blog. I started it in February of 2007. It had to go into hiding. There was to much angry comments made by me, about family. Resulting in me STILL getting subscriptions in my name to magazines, books sent to my door, and more brochures on travel then one could want. I did find out the person. It's my cousins dirty baby mama (not married, but they continue to accidentally breed) she hates his family and chooses to start drama. Nasty.

Since then I closed my old blog, and started up Spaghetti and Bagels. Hence all the nicknames for everyone. AND very few people read my blog that know me personally. Just Queen, Carrots, Frances, Aerial, Iowa, Maternal Mirth, All that Drama, and D. Mudd Pimp. I think a few others, Penguin, and Spaghetti at times.

I just really enjoy the random friends I have made here in the blog world, and would rather know what you have to say.

Do you make New Year's resolutions? Why or why not?
Sure do. I think it's good to make some goals in life. Not saying I will stick to them, but some sort of attempt is there.

Who do you nominate as “Man or Woman of the Year” for 2008?
Man of the year? Shocker. Obama.

Why? Well same reasons why this mama is for Obama, I truly think we can change this Nation. I know it won't happen over night, or in 4 years. He's got a lot of mess to clean up. I think he was amazing in all his speeches, and am proud that in just two weeks he will be the next President of the US!
What was your greatest accomplishment in 2008?

That and being able to keep my sanity with two kids, two big dogs, two pissing cats, and a whole house to myself. Since Spaghetti works Nights full time, days partime, and sleeps inbetween, every baby shift, dog barf, cat piss, and dirty butt, are all on my shift. (98% of the time) he is very hands on when he can, but most of it's for me.

I give myself a big pat on the back, and even though there is clutter everywhere, and laundry out the ying yang, I am still working twards a better home.

Still on a high!

GO OBAMA!!!

History has been made.

As I watch the speech given by Barack Obama, as he accepted his win as the next President of the United States. I was thinking of what I would blog. All the words that were coming to mind.

And now as I sit here at my computer, 11:28 pm, on November 4th 2008. I am speechless.

How to put how proud I am. How grateful I am. And how in love I am with a new President. When I saw on T.V. that it was official, that Senator Barack Obama was now our President, an eight year weight had been lifted off my shoulders.

I am elated that we have such a willing and amazing man to be our President. The fact that his speech was not just all giddiness, but a stern look at the future, and what we need too do. For addressing those who did not vote for him, and reminding them he hears them, and is there President too.

I had tears in my eyes when I heard the news, I got choked up watching the people in Grant Park cry as they were getting interviewed. I am beyond words on the fact that we have broken down yet another barrier. And we have our very first African American President.

He is for us. But for me. And you.

I was also distraught when I heard the news of his Gramother passing just yesterday. I am sure she had a great seat where she was. I loved the fact that he addressed his wife so wonderfully, and that the girls will get there puppy when they move to Washington.

I love to see him and Michelle, the looks, the smiles, the girls. It's a family, but not just any family, a family that has a bond, that you can just see in there looks. Maybe you think I am a little high off of this election. But I really love that family.

I look forward to learning about Joe Biden and his family, I can't wait to see what happens in the months, and years ahead.

When Obama said, that there was a 106 year old woman that voted. And that she had seen this country and this world of ours go through so much in 106 years. Now if our children, if they can see 106 years of life. What changes will they see?

I can only hope the best for our country. I am a proud American. Congratulations Barack Obama.

Rock the vote!

I feel proud. I really do. I have voted ever since I could. This being the 4th election I have participated in. (Quite proud when Clinton was President)

And I know that Illinois is not a swing vote, we are a set Democratic State, but I needed to go out, and voice my opinion anyway.

I am hoping that as I watch the T.V. tonight that Barack Obama is my next President. Good Luck Obama!!

Worth watching

It's long. It's 27 minutes and 10 seconds. I took that time to listen to what Obama had to say. I am voting for Obama. I know nobody talks about it. But it's my blog damn it. And I want to say I am voting for Obama. I am proud of what he stands for, and I cried through a good part of this video.

I can only hope he can do what he says he want too. I hope he is my President. I am proud to vote in just a few days, and as I have said before. This mama is for Obama.

I know 27 minutes and 10 seconds is forever in this day and age. And even though I already knew I am voting for Obama, I still wanted to watch this. It breaks down what he wants to do for us as a country, and I can only hope he gets the change to do it.

Be sure to vote. Be sure to use the right you have. And remember for all you women out there. Just remember what women did for us to have this right to vote. Use your right to vote. And if you don't, please refrain from having any political conversation with me. I mean, how do you have say in something you chose not to participate in? No really, just go vote. If you don't know where your registered to go, I am sure you can find out.

I was checking my email today, and noticed that a friend of mine, we will call her Texas, sent an email, and she did not check her facts before sending it on. Well I guess a few others did and well she got served. Bravo.

Without posting the 10 mile long email about all things evil about Obama, I will however post the link from snopes.com telling you about the money and where it came from. My friend, Chandler is right, you really can't go by what you read on the internet.

Again I agree that everyone has there opinion, and you vote for who you want, I will vote for who I want. But please remember, that we all don't agree that McCain should be President, so I don't want your Obama slamming emails. They just waste my time having to delete them.

But when I got this one, I wished I was the "Wiz of the Web" like Chandler is, and what happens? Chandler comes through and serves Texas a fat serving of "check your facts before you start bashing someone"

Then I check my unknown sender mail, and someone else had responded to Texas' email too. Saying this...

Of all the misinformation that is floating around on the internet, this is one of the worst. It is but a list of questions, or before an after situations, providing no proof to any of the “Planting”. I’m sure one could come up with an equally long list of scenarios about Mr. McCain, whose political career only took off after he married Cindy McCain, a millionaire beer heiress.

I’m not pushing for either side here, but I do believe people should take responsibility enough to find out the true answers to their concerns before broadcasting their opinion out for the world to read. Opinion statements like this one do nothing but to further divide our already troubled country. I don’t think our forefathers had this in mind when they came up with the name “United States of America”.
I’m now getting down off my soapbox.

Bravo again to those who know the facts, and a bigger bravo to those who get the right information before sending it on. Be sure to use your power and vote for your choice. It's a long 4 years, and in this case 8.
