Thing 1 and Thing 2 are very bad kitties

(Thing 1 in grey, and Thing 2 in the tiger stripes)

From the time Spaghetti walked in from work we both could smell it...

Cat urine. Thing 2 is the first to blame for this smell, she pissed all over the sectional we JUST threw out. Weeks ago. Replacing with a new leather couch, and chair. There is piss on the couch.

Spaghetti is NOT happy. At All. No shit, neither am I and I start freaking because I know damn well the look in his eyes says that Thing 2 has only a few hours left to live here.

I can't handle giving away a cat. Or a dog, or any pet for that matter. It kills me. I rescued Thing 2 because no one wanted her. And now he wanted me to do the same. I couldn't do it.

I didn't have a choice. I mean, the couch is less then a month old! He tells me she has to go RIGHT. NOW. I freak. I go upstairs and find Thing 2 I hold her and I sob. I sob and freak out in front of the kids. I couldn't help it.

This cat may have pissed on yet another piece of furniture, but this cat is also my email buddy, during both pregnancies she would sit with me and my daily baths, dipping her tail in the bath. She is a pain in the ass, but she is my cat, damnit.

So after rocking my cat and sobbing like she was already gone. I look at Spaghetti with swollen eyes, and tears on my face. I ask if they could live in my art room?

Fine.

And so I moved them. First the cat tower, then the litter box, the food, the cat cubbie tent, the water jug, and then the cats.
There new digs aren't so bad. The art room is a pleasing purple and lime green, there is a window that gets minor light, the room is 1/2 the house in size, they have TONS of counters to roam, and tables to lay on.
But the pissing did need to stop, and both cats are to blame in one area of the house or another. Thing 1 does her damage in the bedrooms, so they are always closed off. It will be nice to have our doors open for a change. That will be really weird getting used to.
I will miss hearing them wrestle in the hall at night, or getting the run of the house when the dogs are locked up. But it is this or they gatta go. I am glad Spaghetti let them stay.
Well more time for me in my art room. Now I just need a laptop down there and I will be set (I have a fridge, food, art supplies and my cats)
It was just an insanely upsetting day. Plus I have to douse the new couch with cleaner in hopes that the smell was caught soon enough.
So as I stand there smelling like cat urine (since I was scrubbing the couch between sobs) the house is a mess, the kids didn't nap, and I have dishes around the counter top Spaghetti forgot to mention that he was having 3 of his friends over for a BBQ in an hour... oh the insanity of it all... oh and that in a few months we are going to babysit his parents cat (Thing 3) in my art room with my cats) for 12 days... oh no he di-int...
Oh and yes the kids are down in bed now. And yes the wine coolers are tasty. And yes my best friend will be over right after work.

Mini Bloggers

Thanks for the push from D Mudd Pimpster, she reminded me that I hadn't blogged in a while, and once I started blogging I realized how much I missed it! Now I just have to get back to checking all my friends blogs, and enjoying them again!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I smashed the Fnck out of my ring finger last night. Don't ask what the odds are that my finger found itseld between the garage and basement door knobs, can you say WTF?!?
Spaghetti's friends who all know there fair share of swear words, were enjoying the basketball game and hockey game, may have learned a few more swear words (I am known for making up some pretty fun words) I had to ice it, and it still stings to type today.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I am sad that I am not with Queen and Pipe today.
They are off on a fun shopping day. But the budget right now does not have room for fun scrapbooking and shopping adventures today. (I have spent my allowance on No Doubt tickets, and P!nk tickets, my overnight Stampin' Up! event, Conventional, plus I will be attending the ever so fun Scrapbook Expo with Queen and Pipe in the fall!) So I can't complain!

Hope they have a nice day together, I will be seeing Aerial, later today. And then everyone will be back here for the 7 pm Stamp Camp!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
On the scrapbooking note, I decided to play "Julie Cruise Director" as Pipe calls me, and set up a private crop over at my good friend's scrapbook store in town. We are all very excited!
This Saturday from 10 am - 10 pm for $10 is our crop. Since it is private, there are just 6 of us cropping together. So that means 2 to a table! (instead of the usual 4 to a table!) I can't wait!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Purple is the color of the day! Well it's the color of the day everyday for me. I am the QUEEN of last minute. Procrastination award to me! I am talking about the fact that my art room that was just built last August, and was originally post-it note yellow. (because it was bright and fun) But I decided to change that it should be my favorite color (Queen inspired, since her art room is ALL pink)

I started painting is months ago. But I never finished, because I had to remove some wall mounted shelves, and brackets. So back to the reason I am the procrastination queen, I am having Stamp Camp tonight, I thought yesterday was a good day to tear apart my room and paint!

With the help of Bagel, (picture a 3 year old with purple hair and face) she did a great job, we finished the job. Now I just have the fun of putting the room back together again!

And it is fun. I love to tinker, and reorganize my art room, over and over again! I guess I should get to putting it back together again, I have just 6 1/2 hours to go!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have pictures out the yeeha to share with you. Bagel's Tinkerbell Extravaganza party, a fun day at the park, and our friends wedding we just attended... well I will give you the wedding picture now... (thanks to Doug for sharing on FB!)
Below is Spaghetti and me, at Justin and his new wife Mae's wedding, we were able to get almost all the collage friends together. (Tammy and Todd had to leave early, their little guy, Mason (2) was sick at home and left before we got this picture taken)
It was a great time. Always nice seeing Ed with his good friends, and all the guys were in our wedding (almost 8 years ago!)
(L to R, Patsy and Todd, Queen of Feisty, and Spaghetti, Mae, and Justin (tux) and Tim and Doug)
Spaghetti has a social life
Don't take it the wrong way, he has always had friends, and great ones at that. But when your put on Grave yard shift for 4 years and 7 months having to be home by 9 pm, it kinda cramps any guy time.
I say this because both of the playoff games between the Lakers and the Magic this week have been watched by not only Spaghetti but a few of his friends too! As we speak there is male bonding going on in my basement media room.
I couldn't be happier for him.
Spaghetti + friends + big over stuffed recliner chairs + his flat screen + beer + sporting event = a real life for Spaghetti. Nothing fancy, no dips and chips, no food. Just a few guys and a t.v. I love it. I am glad he is home enjoying his time. AND it was all after dinner as a family (again!) and some play time with the kids.
Is this what they call "normal life" because I could get used to this.
Found: One missing best friend from 1989
Here we have myself (center) and my two closest friends from grade school. We three were the best of friends growing up. From sleep overs, to birthdays we've been thought it all. Now all through H.S. and into our collage years we were not as close, still friends but busy with our own lives.
Years later, as we all got married, had kids and turned 30 together. We have bonded and rekindled that friendship we once loved.
Now don't get me wrong having Maternal Mirth (above) as one of your closest friends, and D. Mudd Pimpster (below, with Maternal Mirth hung over at her surprise 30th in the background) is the best ever. But something was missing... that one skinny, funny, wacky dark haired girl. The one that left in the 5th grade. The one person that got me way before I even got me. She moved to another town, not to far away. But the distance and life kept us all apart. Till one winter day, February 11th 2009 to be exact.
I received an email from someone I didn't know. Thought about deleting it. (I am still getting a ton of spam) but I thought I would open it anyway. It was from Renee. I about died. Let me tell you, short of stalking, I have looked high and low for this girl. Not knowing her married name, or the city she had moved to made it hard.
She found my sister on Facebook, and found all of us too. D. Mudd Pimpster and I are looking for a day (when I am free of the flu) where we can (kid free) have a nice long dinner with Renee, full of hugs and laughter and old memories. We have SO much to catch up on. Maybe we can conference call to Maternal Mirth in LaLa land.
So now the 3 that once was a 4. Is now back to the 4 it once was 20 years ago!
Vent about the "cool people"
Did you ever see a picture of someone that used to make fun of you in grade school and just smile to yourself?
Now I know I am not the 107 lb hottie I dream to be. (24lbs to go!) But shieeet, after seeing some of the people that were SO much better then me, and belittled me and my friends. Sigh, it just makes me all warm and fuzzy inside.
I really don't have hard feeling but for just a select few. Those few who made sure that they said loudly in the lunch room "This pop I am drinking is flat. Just like some people" with there evil eyes looking right at me. Right in front of the boy I liked.
Or when you told all the boys in class that I didn't start my period yet, so I was still a little girl, and no one should date me. One even asked me to slow dance, in that creapy basement cafeteria at a sock hop, and after about a verse you cut in. Knowing that was a happy moment for me. Your ruined it.
Or 15 years later when you see me in public and you ignore me when I say "hi" our parents are friends, so I thought I would try and be civil. I wasn't looking for a conversation. Maybe just a polite "hi" to much to ask for? (I tried this on 3 occasions, and I got the same response. You can't say I didn't fucking try)
The best one was Monday, Weaky was at the Doctor for his 9 month, and we had the kids in the "not sick room" when someone from gradeschool (a year below me) came in with her kid, looked at me. Rolled her eyes, and walked out. Fuck you. I hope that since you avoided being seen in the same room as me, and you forced your kid to sit with the sick hacking adults, you all get the flu.
I really don't get what the deal is? I mean was your life that fucked up as a kid that you needed to mock me? To make fun of my best friend behind her back? To still to this day 17 years later, not be able to grow the fuck up? I mean you called me a loser, but I am thinking the real losers where the bitches that still can't get over themselves.
Well like I said I have seen pictures. And they ain't pretty. And no I am not one of those freaks that can't get over this shit, going on the Maury show, but when it still continues, after we are all grown, have families and kids of our own? I am just a bit bitter. That it still goes on.
My only request. Is that if those people do corrupt someone into marring them. And if those people, god save us, do breed. I only ask that they raise there children to be nothing like themselves. Because they were the most rotten, self absorbed, bitches.
So out of 32 class mates, I must say there are only a few that I can not stand. The rest, are awesome people that I still connect with. I am happy to say that after 25 years Maternal Mirth and Mudd D. Pimpster, are still my close friends. Quigs and I just found each other, and thanks to MySpace and Facebook, I am finding more of my old friends.
It's just those few... those rotten few... that just ruin it...
Well now that that is off my chest, I guess what I needed to say is that I am tired of sad people, who have shitty lives, and chose to shit on the happy people. Maybe that is it. Maybe because your family life was shit you needed to hate on me?
What a waste of my energy today. Well I should be a happier camper, now that I vented. And with some quality time with the voodoo doll, all will be good.
Anyone else still hate the gradeschool slut, bitch, bully?
Soap Box Sunday. Very bad words, and Haters.
Haven't done one of these in a while. Let me climb myself up here onto my pretty soapy box, and give you all a piece of my mind...
So a few weeks ago I was at my friends house, doing the usual stamping, and paper crafting we do. It's a business meeting we have, and so with so many different people and there backgrounds there tends to be some interesting conversations.
I have on many occasions stayed till 2 am enjoying the conversation with my friends. Mostly on business, and kids, family, and friends. Sometimes we talk about the taboo subjects. And as of the last time I was there. I left the house, loudly saying "And this is why I can not talk to any of you about Religion, Politics, or Gays" we just don't agree. Leave me out of it.
Let's just say it's hard for me to consider some of these women, who are church going people to be close friends. Some of there ideas and thoughts are extreemly close minded. I am offended by the fact that I was once told that I was "delirious to think that some one being gay was ok. And that I should be prayed for, because I support them." I think that person almost fainted when I told them I proudly attend the Chicago Pride parade with my cousin and his partner.
I also know for a fact that most of the women are strong Christian women, and while religion is great for some, I hate the ones that use it as a crutch to get through life. To say "it's ok, God will forgive me for talking shit about others, I'm only human" WTF. I mean I am so not religious, but I at least don't go around talking all the gossips and being as hatred as some of these regular church goers. But whatever makes you sleep at night.
And now onto Politics. Yikes. All someone said was "Obama" and the whole group was all "who would vote for him" and "what a disgrace" and "I sure didn't vote for him!" Well did shit hit the fan, when I proudly told them that...
1581884212_57276dd550_o
and man did the racist comments fly. Holy shit. I thought I was sitting around with my great grandparents or something. I mean really?! He's not all black though? Doesn't matter?? And when I heard the "N" word from a few of there mouths, and repeatedly? Wow.
I found that all the praying and church going won't fix the stupid hate you have in your hearts from someone with just a better tan then you.
I still hang out at the meetings, I do learn alot, and get great ideas. But I have since learned to keep my opinions to myself. I do stand for what I believe in. I stand for gays, black, Democrats, non-religious people, I get that not everyone agrees. But for all the anger twards people you don't even know?
It confuses me.
I know some people were raised that the "N" word was ok. And people get trapped in a era and can't evolve with the rest of the world. It's embarrassing.
I may be white. Female. Living in a Heehaw town, south of Chicago. But I love Hip Hop, Democrats, and my Gay friends and family.
On that note I can't wait for Tuesday. I can't. I am really hoping for an amazingly emotional day. With high hopes, and a motivational President, that I am proud of. Obama, his wife, and children are an amazing example.
I just learned that some people are just not as smart as you thought they were. That being so close minded, and expecting everyone to be the same, and if your not then your looked down on. Well let me just tell you, I am one of those random people.
I like to step outside the box, be creative, different, and open to new things.
(Yes that is me, with a mohawk, and if your interested that is
Maternal Mirth in a very buzzed stooper. A bit to much pop music for her liking)
I learn everyday. And I can only hope that after Tuesday there is a leader that shows us that this is a possibility. To be open to real ideas, things we really need.
Alright, I am babbling, if your still reading my rant. Congrats. If your as excited about Tuesday as I am. Congrats. For the rest of you. Grow up, stop using ignorant words, and trying to bash things and people, and lifestyle you don't understand.
I hate it when uneducated people try to judge others, because of something there old ass magic book tells them, and some invisible guy tells them. Oh my, here I go on my religious rant... let me stop before I lose the 2 readers I have going for me...
So. Moral of the story. Don't assume because I am white female, married to a male with two kids. I don't rock out to Hip Hop music, and march in a Pride Parade, all while singing Obama's praise!
Haters...
T- minus 20 hours 39 minutes....
Today is crazy.
I have T-minus 21 hours until we leave.
We as in me.
Me, the Queen, Pipe, my friend one L, her sister, and boss/best friend.
We are going to Indiana. Why am I so excited to go to Indiana, in January you ask?
Because there is a quaint little town, with a nice little place we will be taking over from Friday at 4pm, until Sunday afternoon.
We are going to a place where a nice lady will cook and clean for us, then disappear to be with her family all while we crop.
Yes this is my Christmas present from Spaghetti. He is giving me a 3 day, 2 night getaway. I have packed an insane amount of stuff.
2 rolling totes (one is 4 feet tall!) for scrapbook papers, chipboard, mediums, punches, adhesives, and Cricut cartridges.
1 bag for project scrapbooks, scrapbook magazines, my file of ideas, of coarse my Stampin' Up! catalog.
1 carousal of tools
My work mat
1 bag for pictures to scrap
1 bag of stamps
1 bag of more tools, less used. And memorabilia.
1 tote for accessories and journal sheets
1 tote for more accessories and ribbons
1 tote for just solid card stock and mini books to work on
(all the above is packed)
That is not counting the pink tote for candy, and my Starbucks drinks, and coffee. Clothes, and toiletries. (still need to pack clothes)
Still have to clean the house (Spaghetti is supervising the children this weekend) the more that Spaghetti doesn't have to do, the easier 3 days with the kids will be. (he is spending the day Saturday with his mom and dad, cheater!!)
I have been tackling the laundry all week, there are still 4 bags from Thanksgiving to put away, the BIG pack and play is overflowing with clean laundry, and there are 3 baskets in our bedroom to put away. 3 still to wash, AND one in the dryer and one in the washer. Phew.
I just have to unload the dishwasher, and do laundry, otherwise the house is clean.
20 hours and 40 minutes.... and counting...
Besides cleaning, I have to do Baptism Thank you's, drop off some candle orders, but I do have to print out Spaghetti's football picks, and email some Stampin' Up! specials to my customers.
Phew. Busy bug! But I will be back! Oh, and I must say I am very happy to see that my Iowa friend Jayme, is back blogging! Plus it looks like Becky is back too? Aerial... Aerial? Yeah I know, your on your long weekend... I demand some blogging from you!
A fun day, till something died up my ass
SO I had the best time at the crop this last Saturday. My mom and I went to this cute little, impossible to find, scrapbook store. A.maz.ing. The room color, the decorations (can you say Pottery Barn Kids?) the fully stocked kitchen all for us to use! And even better we were the only ones booked for that day!
So mom and I, head out early, I am a cropper from start of time to end, and then some. The crop started at 9 am and was scheduled till midnight. We stopped at Starbucks right around the corner, for a yummy breakfast and my free Mocha Peppermint Twist (Red) promo they have going on.
We cropped and shopped all morning, then off to TGI Friday for a great lunch. When we returned to the crop, our one girlfriend, Patti was there. The crop room manager showed up, and the party was getting funner! (yes that is a word I use often, way better then "more fun") Piper showed up later then she wanted, and Aerial came by too.
We all worked on projects, ate pizzas, drank wine (free, yes free when you crop!!) Then with little or no begging they let us all go into the warehouse where they store everything. Oh I forgot to mention, that this place is an online store, and the crop room was just opened to the public in October of 2008. So this warehouse is huge, all stocked with all the newest and trendiest scrapbooking supplies! Oh the ooohs, and aaahhhs, from everyone! It was great!!
This store ships as far as Australia! But we have it right here! (well about an hour away) but still! The prices are great, and they are possibly still running a sale on some Cricut cartridges for only $29.99!!!!
Anywho, so we all had a great time, Aerial left first, then Pipe and my mom left. Patti and I stayed till about 12:30, right as I was getting ready to take out my last load of stuff, I farted. Not the whole noisy fart. But the worst ones of all for me. The SBD. Now I have a cold and I can not breathe through my nose, so when I smelt it, I feared for everyones lives, well at least there nose hairs from being singed off.
So I announce that I farted and that I am sorry. If they never want me back again (after much praise on how fun and entertaining we all were) I would completely understand. Well of coarse they said it's no big deal, everyone farts. I then said, you must not smell it yet.
Oh when it hit them... they asked me if I shit myself? Or what died up my ass? (after 15 hours of quality time, you get pretty comfortable with people) I told them it stank. It made the younger girl gag.
I am so sorry to the nice ladies at Custom Crops. You were awesome, and nice, and your store was pretty, I am again sorry for dropping a fart bomb in your expensively decorated crop room. (that was no fart cloud. That was a bomb)
Outside of that our day was awesome. Oh and no I was not mortified, it takes WAY more then that to embarrass me. Maybe shitting myself would do it... be sure to check out Custom Crops and tell them I sent you.
Going to the Circus!
You bet your sweet ass I am going. D P.I.M.P. Mudd has already gotten tickets, but we are looking for closer seats (so far 3 row off the floor) I am elated that we are going! Can't wait, can't wait, can't wait, can't wait, can't wait...
Oh and she bought 4 tickets. So if you are in the area of Chicago and would like to go we have an extra, the catch is these tickets are $168 (tax and all) and we are looking to maybe spend more if we can get better seats (these are fine with me though) so let me know if your interested. We, D. Mudd, her friend Kelly, and I are HUGIGUNDO fans of Brit, have been since day one, through shaved heads, crazy umbrella stunts, barefoot gas stations (eww) and all.
I have stood by her as a fan, and I love her. And yes her new CD is out today, oh, and a big fat Happy Birthday Britney!! is in order too!
Can't wait!!
Manic Monday. Conversation with myself about stress, direction, reading minds, and folding boxes.
Do you ever talk to yourself out loud? What do you talk about?
Are you serious? ALL THE TIME. Funny thing is I am such a talker, that I notice that people shut me out. No really I have come to terms with the fact that maybe I might just talk a bit to much. I do try to limit myself. But yes I have tested all my friends and family. Yes you too. Where I talk, telling a story, then mid sentence I will stop. Sad to say, many times, no one notices.
But around the house, sure I talk to myself. I argue with myself, I question myself, I answer myself. Even when I am out in public. Scrapbooking? Of coarse I talk to myself. Sometimes out loud is the only way I can really remember, or figure something out.
Not ashamed one bit.
What stresses you out?
Dong barking when we all sit and eat.
I can go from zero stress to complete psycho in seconds over that.
Bagel whining.
Gah! I don't understand whine. And I learned that from Chandler, years ago, I was on the phone with her, and her son was whining, she told him she didn't understand whining, he needed to talk. A.maz.ing. I use it all the time. She will whine a few more times, and of coarse I understand her. But I will NOT tolerate whining. Gag!
Money.
Right, like who doesn't? Bills, mortgage, taxes, Christmas, thank god we can all breathe for a minute on the gas prices. I mean seriously... $4 something over the summer and now $1.73?!? WTF??
Outside of that I really don't let much else stress me. I mean I have douche bag family members, bitchy customers, and it just doesn't pay for me to stress over these tards. I live my life. I worry about my parents, and in laws, my sister, my kids, and Spaghetti, my pets. Outside of that I do have concern for my friends and there issues, but to stress on it? Sorry I try to keep my life as drama free and happy as I can. So stressing on little shit just ain't worth it.
What are your secret talents?
Direction. No really, I am good at it. I rarely get lost, even in a new area. It's all about landmarks, and focusing on your direction.
I can fold those stupid cardboard storage boxes, in seconds. I don't read the directions. It just is natural to me the way they go. Maybe it's all the paper crafting I do.
This one is weird. Even for me. I can kinda see ahead of what someone is going to talk about or do. Maybe it's just that I am really observant. Not saying I see the future, I am just saying if we are just talking I can see where the conversation is going. Or if you say just one word I can usually guess right where your going. Which I tend to cut someone off and say it for them. Probably annoying, since I am not always right on this but 8 times out of 10 I am.
It might not make sense. But I guess it does to me. I really try to observe everyone in a situation, especially the quiet ones. I observer there clothes, there jewelry, there voice, there actions. It all reads who you are. Even your hair.
I mean take for example if you wear a mohawk with a "cute but psycho" shirt, with jeans and flats. Basic silver jewelry, some interesting pieces, and make-up. Talks alot, very smiley, doesn't seem to give a shit attitude, funny but sweet.
Yes that is me. So lets read me... mohawk = different, and rebellious. Happy bunny shirt = sassy, and wants you to know her. Jeans and flats = likes it simple, and comfy. Basic jewelry some different = possible family heirlooms, pretty jewelry but simple. Make-up = possibly hiding something. (sure am. I was never comfortable with out makeup on. I am better at it. But I really like it on. I feel plain with out it.)
Talking alot, smiley, sassy attitude, funny but sweet= me. And I try to portray that to most people I talk to, even in small conversations.
So that is what I do. I read people, fast sometimes if that is all we have. Not judging, but I just try to read them. Wonder what kind of day they are having, what they do for fun. Might seem retarded to you. But to me I get to know people or try to, I make conversation on what I observe. Well... that's just me.
I lost.
I lost the battle of the Scrapbook weekend. I posted before on my Scrappbooking weekend vent. Well they emailed me last night and told me that the other group is getting the weekend. And we were free to look else where.
Now I am way more forgiving then the others in my group, and some of them have already laid into the girls for this mixup. Not to say I didn't share my feelings of disappointment, but I am moving on, and looking for somewhere new.
So now we are throwing around ideas on where to stay, it is V-Day weekend and here in the Midwest the weather is not so friendly, so the one I am rooting for is 4 1/2 hours south east, and some don't want to travel if there is bad weather. I have no problem driving in shitastical weather. You just suck it up and 4 1/2 hours becomes 6 hours.
Our other choices are $100 more, or to scrap at a regular hotel (Boring) I want to be pampered, and just move in for 3 days. We will see, I am waiting on the other girls to give me there ideas.
Remind me again why I am "Julie Cruise Director" because this is way to much fucking fun.
The Wedding.
I parked in front of the HUGE cathedral church, slightly anxious. I was dressed nice, (not in my party dress) hair cute, sucked it in and got out of the truck (I went alone because Spaghetti, my work horse, was at work)
I walked in looking for a friendly face, and I saw Molly. The grooms twin sister, whom I was friends with in H.S. we talked for about 10 minutes.
Then I moved on to the usher, a mutual friend of mine and AM's, a big huge made my anxiety almost gone! He sat me by myself, closer to the back. I wanted her to see me when she walked down the isle, but I didn't want to be to close to the front.
As I sat, one of the bridesmaids, L waved and gave a big smile. I smiled my warmest smile, and waved back. As I sat for only a minute, I was greeted by another mutual friend, A, she too has befriended the bride on and off again, I see that since she is sitting next to me. She is off again.
I met her husband Edward, and I felt a squeeze on my shoulder.
One of the guys that I have know for 10 years, a friend of mine and my husbands, and a groomsman in my wedding. Brian. I was happy to be with old friends. All worries of tenseness, and bitter feelings were gone.
As I sat and we chatted, shared pictures, the wedding started.
A.J., AM's 10 year old son, was when I lost it. He was so handsome, nervous, and just wanted to be down that isle! I cried, I remember him as a baby. I smiled at Molly as she came down the isle. And when the wedding march came on the tears just rolled down my face.
AM and M deserve this day. This is a day that they have gone back and forth on, she would have been married 8 years ago with kids all over the place, but he wanted to wait. She waited.
So her it is. Her big day. She was so beautiful in her dress, she was happy, and trying not to cry. I don't think seeing tears streaming down my face helped her at all.
The ceremony was long, but what Roman Catholic wedding isn't? Afterwards I went up and said hello to the musician. She was my music teacher in H.S. and remembered me as soon as I walked up. We chatted, and I missed the chance to say hello to the new bride and groom, they were already doing pictures.
But I waved, and told them I would see them tonight. Spaghetti is so tired, he worked all day and all night yesterday, he worked all day today, and tonight after the reception, then again all day tomorrow. Sigh. He needs to slow down.
But I am looking forward to a long overdue reception. I will post again on the details.
A Wedding, 10 years later
I wanted to post on this subject before hand.
I am going to a wedding this afternoon. Well in a few minutes I am leaving. It's the wedding of Spaghetti's co-worker, and the bride to be...
My friend, my enemy, my best friend, my we-don't-talk-but-still-cool friend, my best friend, my enemy, and now my we've-been-through-so-much-hate/bestfriend-ness-but-now-were-cool again friend.
I am excited for them. Then deserve this. They started dating a few months after me and Spaghetti. 10 years ago. It's insane on how much, and what Spaghetti and I have done in this past decade. And they have been on the same page for so long!
I know each relationship is different. And I knew in my heart, after all they have been through, that they would be together in the end.
But if only it wouldn't have taken 10 years to make it all happen. I guess I am just so happy that Spaghetti and I knew what we wanted, and we went for it. We did get married young, I was almost 23 and he was just 25. We didn't want kids for another 5 years, and everything went according to our time line.
We compromised, talked and planned way back when we were 23 and 25. It worked for us.
Now this day is here, and my friend, we will call her AM, is finally getting ready for her big day. I hope it is everything that she wants, and it's what she deserves. I hope her day goes as smooth as it can. And that everyone remembers it's there day.
I will post again on this later, I just wanted to post my before feelings... and I know you will read about the after. There are many stories behind my relationship with not only the bride and groom, but most of the wedding party. Oh I forgot to mention that I went to H.S. with the groom, so who knows who will be there... gulp...
Comment on comments and some other news
You left me funny Comment Love and so I respond...
Kristen, sorry you missed dinner. We had BBQ ribs and fries. Yummy! Maybe next time!
Chandler, aka Maternal Mirth, yes Twilight has captured me. And yes I would shit myself if you and Pimp Mudd came by. Especially since your about 1,981 miles away. That would be one hell of a hike just to check on me.
And Maternal Chandler, I love how you keep fucking around with the combination of D. Pimp's name... kinda fun...
So today was insane, fun but insane. My in laws were by for the Bears game, we had lunch, then I stole just the one Spike, and we went to the Baptism party for my good friends son Gavin. (on a side note, Gavin is 4 months, and he is 17 lbs! Holy shit, that is one big effing baby! Spike is 6 1/2 months and just 14 lbs!!) I left Bagel home with dad, and Gramma and Grampa Mc.
The party was nice, a surprise that so many of my old friends were there. They all live a few hours drive away so I didn't think they would make it. Mateo (close friend from H.S.) and wife, Sara, were in from Indiana, and Jess and Shaun (my best friends from H.S.) were in with there daughter Joli (Bagels age)
It was nice bringing up old memories, talking and laughing.
After I came home we ordered dinner, and then my In laws had enough of us, so the left. I know it was a long day, but they were out of town, and haven't seen the kids in almost 2 weeks! That is eternity to them!!
Fun and busy day. Now I shall go chill, and read with my Spaghetti.
Wordful Wednesday. 2 foot scissors = one butt kisser.
In the spirit of Halloween, I must share with you, the ever so cute Halloween class I taught a few weeks ago... I must explain. I am a Stampin Up! demonstrator. I have been for 4 years now. I don't do home shows much, unless you really want one. I teach classes twice a month from my home. Yes it does make extra money, but that all gets turned right back into the hobby I love! Papercrafting!! So for this class, the Halloween Bonanza, they paid $25 for the class. In return the got a $9.99 pack of the 12x12 Halloween scrapbook paper from Stampin' Up!, and the $9.99 pack of Halloween rub on's from Stampin' Up!, so stamp camp was really only $5. Using some of there product, they made these adorable projects (yes I made them up myself...)
This first picture is of the card that everyone made, along with the cute envelope, we even lined the envelope! (the bats are made from the square scallop punch, too cute!!)
Then we made these adorable 7"x2" pencil boxes ($1 at Target) into Halloween scrapbooks!
Here is the book inside, just using the paper, rub-ons and some fun ribbons!
Then they made two 12x12 page layouts, here is the first one... (tombstones from the keytag punch, and grass from the wider Olive grosgrain ribbon)
This one is not complete, I didn't finish it so I could show them how I put the bats on the twill tape. They were rub-ons too.
So that was my Halloween Bonanza Stamp Camp, we had a blast (that is when I dressed up as P!nk) and everyone else did too!
Here are some of the Creative Maniacs. My friend Pipe came as a smart ass, myself as P!nk, the Queen as a scarecrow, L as a flu shot victim, Lego as a mummy, D came later after pictures, she was covered in glitter, and wore a shirt that said "Supermom, somewhere between Paris and Martha" I loved it! and 2L's as....drum roll please... not only the biggest butt kisser, but the best costume ever....
A stamp camper. Seriously, she won first place (a pack of paper and a stamp set) she puffy painted a shirt, she sewed that vest, made little stamp camp badges, the hat had our snail adhesive on it, with markers. And my open house project was adhered to the back of the vest. Oh and she had these 2 foot plastic scissors on her side.
Happy 4th annual Halloween party!!
NKOTB or Bust.
Here we are. Again. MnM, Feisty and Mud. We three did this same concert, 20 years ago. This one included tears of laughter, and of happiness that it was really happening.
NKOTB was really right there, and we were really all right there. Together again. Parting like it was 1988.
While MnM was starting a fight in the bathroom, Mud and I posed for a cute picture, but it quickly reminded us of gradeschool, with the whole brick wall and everything behind us.
I must point out, that all while LZ looks very happy to be here, if she only knew the sheer, and utter excitement on the face of her bestest friend behind her. Mud was just a wee bit elated. And no not drunk.
On that note, Mud also took my camera away from me, and wanted to document again how this was the best day of her life, well not better then the birth of her daughter. But she did call her husband and told him it was better then there wedding day. I have to say since I witnessed both, the wedding day, and this concert. I did not see this look at all on Mudds big day to Mr. R.
Yes this would be me. Feisty, rocking my mahawk, Joe and Jordan pins, Joe earings, and no I did not have a t-shirt, so I just cut holes in my 20 year old pillow case. I know. It's hot.
Her is LZ and Mudd. Who I must say looked very festive in her Amusement park made, t-shirt, of her and Donnie (with the words "he's mine" under it) also her Donnie heart necklace, and New Kids on the Block earings.
Mudd and Me... my god I wore a pillow case...
Myself rockin' the case. And the ultra cool and hip MnM eating her popcorn, and her beer (I do believe at that point you were on #5) You said something about numbing the opening acts. See MnM has gone astray from the ever so awesome Pop Music, and so she only wanted NKOTB, so beer was the solution to her happiness. And well to ours also.
Mind you MnM you were fun before the beer, but I agree you were way more fun after about 6 or 7 beers. But mind you I told you NOT to pull forward in the drive through until you check your bag. Damn it, they always fuck you in the drive through. And what do you do? Pull forward so I can check the bag... I don't get it. I mean they did screw up, forgot Mud's fries and I had to go in. So if we would have stayed in the window, we could have just told them. Who gives a fuck about the wankers behind us? Bah. Well now that I have that off my chest, thanks for letting us use the rent a car to get us there.
Mud, thanks for getting us the tickets, AWESOME job on the seats. As always it's fun to hang out. And LZ you were awesome to put up with our pillowcase wearing ways, and screaming our lungs off.
As always ladies it was a blast, I froze as many memories as I could in my head. And I thank you again for giving me the best memories at one of the best concerts. Much love.
Just like it was 1988 all over again.
You scream, I scream, we all scream for New Kids On The Block. Yes there was 3 ten year old girls that went to the New Kids On The Block concert, it was end of summer 1988.
Fast forward 20 years (oh god, did I just say, 20 YEARS! Ack!) and here we are again. Feisty, MnM and Mud (girl scout story) all over again. We also brought along Muds friend, LZ, who very nicely put up with us and our crazy antics all night. (thank you.)
We arrived, MnM couldn't wait to get to the nearest beer stand, because unlike Mud and I, she no longer loves herself some good pop music. Ever since the grunge came and took her away. (she was just there for the memories and the beer) she needed to numb herself through the opening acts that she had little or no idea of who they were.
Props to both the opening acts, I loved them. Took me a minute to remember the first guy, you might not know him by name, Colby O' Donis, but his song "What You Got" is featuring Akon, and is on the top 40 hip hop and pop charts. AWESOME!
Then the ever so beautiful and talented Natasha Beddingfield came out! I loved it! I am a fan, so on top of the bestest friends, the memories, the NKOTB I also got two awesome opening acts too!
I will just post all the pictures here. And comment below each... some pictures deserve there own posts, and will be saved for just that. (yes my dears, stop stalking me for the pictures, it is 12:53 am and I am editing, cropping, and we all know red eye removing from every one of my shots) Enjoy...
The opening of there show, they come up from the top stage floor... it was deafing in there.
A.MAZ.ING.
Jon and brother Jordan Knight, on the side stage by us!
Donnie and Jordan on side stage, with some back up dancersJoe did a solo song, he has his own album out too.
Love it!!
Not that Jordan didn't have my attention with his solo (also an album out) but when he did it with his shirt open and the wind blowing it...my life is complete...
This is Mud's freebee, I will explain in another post, all hail to Donnie.
Half way through the show they appear on this mini round stage in the middle of the floor audience. Just big enough for them, and a piano. One of my favorite moments, they did Tonight, Tonight out there.
And right before they left they came over and said good bye to me. (and some of the other people around me... I guess...)
Final bow, after they finished off the show, with the first encore being Step by Step, and then back out for the ever so wonderful Hangin' Tough. I loved every memory making moment. It was SO fun, and the show was amazing.
I will be doing a separate post on all of our asinine pictures of ourselves.
Old school memories on hold!
Yes I will blog, brag, cry, remember, all the amazing memories of Saturday night... I just need my camera and my computer to cooperate with each other. At the moment they are not speaking to each other...
Soooo, my beloved pictures are trapped. I will be driving to a store, in the next few hours, print, copy, and burn what I want. All while chugging my beloved coffee...
I swear I will post them... oh and it was very short lived the whole, "no picture thing" on here. I talked with the police and the Post office, and right now it's more of "mischievous behavior" but that is all.
Until I am paying for things, or someone is using my name to buy things, then it is a police matter. For now it's just a pain in my ass. Hope it will be over soon.
So stay tuned, for pictures of friends Hangin' Tough, Tonight, Tonight, at the end of the Summertime, hoping for one last memory of the Right Stuff...
