Weaky

My boy.

Weaky. In the beginning of this blog, I called him Spike (Mohawk as a baby) Weaky was because he squeaked when he cried as a baby (Bagel said Weaky instead of Squeaky) and it stuck.

Born to us April 25th 2008, he is the newest addition to the family.

Even though he's just 16 months, and not much talking and just started walking, he is not the shy little boy I thought I had. He is a bull dog of sorts, with a strong personality, maybe because of his sister and his need to defend himself from her strong opinions, and toy thieving ways.

He is a cuddlier, and a kisser, a head butter and a biter. He is the most amazing little man, and as much as I love my daughter to the moon and back, there is SO something different about a mother and a son.

A knowing that no matter what, I will always be his first love. The one girl who will ALWAYS be by his side, and will never back down in his defense. I love him endlessly, and can't wait to see how he grows as a boy and into a man.

I love you Weaky Man. For more of my favorite stories, go here for a dose of true SAHM insanty or to see a baby wear a cake go here.

Manic Monday on Saturday

What is the biggest mistake you made in 2008 and will not make again in 2009?
I had a blog. I started it in February of 2007. It had to go into hiding. There was to much angry comments made by me, about family. Resulting in me STILL getting subscriptions in my name to magazines, books sent to my door, and more brochures on travel then one could want. I did find out the person. It's my cousins dirty baby mama (not married, but they continue to accidentally breed) she hates his family and chooses to start drama. Nasty.

Since then I closed my old blog, and started up Spaghetti and Bagels. Hence all the nicknames for everyone. AND very few people read my blog that know me personally. Just Queen, Carrots, Frances, Aerial, Iowa, Maternal Mirth, All that Drama, and D. Mudd Pimp. I think a few others, Penguin, and Spaghetti at times.

I just really enjoy the random friends I have made here in the blog world, and would rather know what you have to say.

Do you make New Year's resolutions? Why or why not?
Sure do. I think it's good to make some goals in life. Not saying I will stick to them, but some sort of attempt is there.

Who do you nominate as “Man or Woman of the Year” for 2008?
Man of the year? Shocker. Obama.

Why? Well same reasons why this mama is for Obama, I truly think we can change this Nation. I know it won't happen over night, or in 4 years. He's got a lot of mess to clean up. I think he was amazing in all his speeches, and am proud that in just two weeks he will be the next President of the US!
What was your greatest accomplishment in 2008?
Birth of Weaky Spike Mc on April 25th at 4:06 pm.

That and being able to keep my sanity with two kids, two big dogs, two pissing cats, and a whole house to myself. Since Spaghetti works Nights full time, days partime, and sleeps inbetween, every baby shift, dog barf, cat piss, and dirty butt, are all on my shift. (98% of the time) he is very hands on when he can, but most of it's for me.

I give myself a big pat on the back, and even though there is clutter everywhere, and laundry out the ying yang, I am still working twards a better home.

What's up DOC.

Spike. Weaky, is what I am going to call him. I am tired of using "spike" as his name. We call him Weaky, so his new name here is Weaky. (previously known as Spike)

Above is the picture of him and Bagel getting Baptised. But that is not what this post is about. This post is to tell you that Weaky is going to be a bit over protected by me. Not that Bagel isn't. but there is just something small and fragile about Weaky that makes me protect him more.

Now even before Monday, I was like that with him.

So Monday... lets back the truck up to a few months ago. Weaky's ped. says that we should contact a specialist about his head. He thinks it is misshapen. I put it off, finally Spaghetti wants to call. I said go ahead. I am not excited about this but if it makes you sleep better at night go ahead.

He called, made the appointment, and we saw a bunch of people at this place called "Cranial Technologies" who make these bands for kids with flat heads. These helmet band things, are so they don't have to do surgery, it's worn like a boxer's training helmet.

So after pictures, and measuring, and looking, and more measuring, and some family history, Weaky was diagnosed with being moderate, in need for a helmet. He would have been mild and could have just let it get better. But the nice lady told us that his eyes are off center, and his ears are too. And the odds that both Spaghetti and I can't see more the a foot in front of our faces, if Weaky needed glasses, they would be crooked on his face.

I don't need my kid having amo for the bullies in school, so Spaghetti and I decided to go ahead and get this for him. We had to wait 48 hours for the insurance to call me and discuss what was covered.

This is a $3600.00 helmet, therapy, and all visits price tag. With our insurance, we have already met our deductible, so we would owe $200.00, IF and I say IF they can get it in this year. In two weeks it will change (our insurance plan is changing) it will be up to $450.00. The insurance has up to a month to get back to us.

More random details. Oh and let me tell you I am excited about this, Weaky would have to wear the helmet or http://www.cranialtech.com/index.htmlDOC, for 23 hours a day. CAN NOT get it wet, must check for sweating and irritated skin. Hoping to get this done ASAP, he would have to wear it for 3-4 months.

Plus since he favors his left side, he has torticollis and has some pulling in his shoulder, so we have to do exercises on and off through the day to get that fixed too.

Bagel was cute when we showed her what Weaky would have to wear, she wanted one too.

At first I was sad, and overly protective of Weaky on this subject. I didn't want to talk about it. So that is why my parents and Aerial found out just days before hand.

I am hoping this time next year the DOC band is all but a memory to us. I hope it does what it needs to, and we can move on. If your interested to see what it looks like, or read up on it. Check them out here, and all over this post.

I will keep you posted on what is going on, for now we just wait for the insurance, and until then I must do exercises with my Weaky man.

Monday.

Sunday night after a day around the house, my mom and dad stopped by to take Bagel for the night. After they left, Spaghetti, Spike and I had a hot date with Super Walmart and some major grocery shopping. 2 hours and $335.48 later we were home.

Made chicken in the croc pot (slow cooker) and Alfredo for dinner. Then we decided after Spike went to sleep, we were going to party like rock stars and stayed up till 2:30 am. BAD idea.

The whole point of having Queen and Carrots entertain Bagel for the night and next day, was because Spike had a Dr. appointment at 9:15 in a town approx. 45 minutes away (that is before ice storm and Monday morning rush hour in Chicago's west suburbs) so after only 4 hours of sleep, Spaghetti and I wake up around 6:30 am to leave by 7 ish. Leave way to early by Spaghetti's calculations, he was predicting a sit down breakfast when we got there SO early.

We were 15 minutes late. Yes we left 2 hours and 15 minutes early for a 45 minute drive, well when your really not on the road, and your just coasting along the ice capades we call the highway. Well 25 mph is a safe speed.

We had Spikes appointment (another post) and got done around 11:30 am, went to Weber Grill restaurant. Eh, not so impressed. To pricey, not enough food. But Starbucks was right around the corner, which made me happy.

While at the restaurant Spaghetti called his mom to give her the update on Spike. Thus finding out that her work building was about a block from the restaurant! So we took Spike to Gramma's work so she could show him off.

Then ALL the way to my parents (driving back was better, the sun melted most of the main road ice) still took about an hour and 1/2. Picked up Bagel and headed home.

Phew.

Wrapped my Christmas present for the Dauber Diva Christmas Party (fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrators) Aerial came by to go with, my IL's came over to visit with Spaghetti and the kids, while I was out.

Hung out at my friends, we ate, did the exchange/stealing gift game. Visited some more, then after the majority left, there was about 7 of us left. We all gathered around the tree, and got comfy one the big couch. So comfy I fell asleep. I was zonked.

Napped for about an hour, then finally woke up. Visited some more, and Aerial and I left and got home around 2 am.

Wow.

Needless to say, we all slept till 11 am the next day. So that was Monday. Insane and busy. I can't go like that on no sleep. Not sure how Spaghetti has done it.

Bagel's new bed, or lack there of

I have realized that Bagel likes to sleep anywhere but her bed. Always on the floor, depending on the mood. Most of the time it is right behind her bedroom door.

Now for the longest time, this would enrage me. Yes that is a strong word, but I was just furious that she couldn't just sleep in her bed. She has a nice bed, not to high, the box with the drawers underneath, and a book case behind.

So after months of Bagel leaving her bed, minutes after I put her in it, and curling up behind her door, I should explain, her room is a regular squarish size room, 14x16 pretty big for a tot. But the doorway, is kinda at an angle... no not on a angle... um... ok, like if you were to walk in straight you have about 3 feet, and then there is a wall. You have to turn to go into her room, and there is kinda a mini hall to her room. She love to sleep there. So I caved.

Funny thing is I hated, and I still do hate, sleeping in a wide open space. Unless my head is covered. So she doesn't like to sleep in the big room, but in the little space. Hmmm... lot like her mommy. I tried looking at Target for one of those tent beds, but I can only find the most gigantious tents for her room. I need to find her one, or the Cabbage Patch doll one I had as a kid, I know my mom gave it to me... maybe the attic?

Either way, after realizing today, after months, that she is doing just what I would do. I set her up with her big fat comfy new comforter that Aunt Frances got her for her Baptism, and her big fat feather pillow, with flannel cover. ALL the babies should could find, and of coarse her Glow Worm right next to her.

It's hard for me I have to be SO QUIET Because her door, and our door, share a corner. So Spaghetti and I are in discussion as to where we are moving Bagels bed, and where can we find a tent bed. Until then, camp Bagel will be set up in the corner!

And as she says to me each night "Snug, as a bug, in a rug, Mommy" then lots of whispering about how much she loves me, and that I am beautiful, but before I run for the nearest mommy pageant, I am told that "Daddy, and Spike, and Ding, and Dong, and Thing 1, and Thing 2, and Bagel are all so pretty too. OH and so is Gow worm, and Sara (my old Cabbage Patch doll) and Jammer, and Bert, and Ernie" thanks kid...

I don't wanna be a grown up!

Before Spaghetti and I got married, we made an agreement. An agreement that we would not grow up. We would never be to old to have fun or be childish. But with that being said, we knew that we had to do adult things from time to time.

So with that being said, I have a big fat list of "adult things" to do. I will share them with you. (I know your thrilled)

  • Check into switching out my insurance to AAA. My dad just did, and he is saving a bunch of money. We have the house, two cars, and my wedding ring. So I need to check into that soon.
  • The mortgage and taxes... so the other day, I came up with the idea that if I took the taxes out of my mortgage (escrow) and just paid them myself, I would save $500 a month to put into a saving account, and actually budget food into, possibly even pay bills and be able to breathe afterwards. Now to pay the taxes each year, I would be using my tax return from the government we get each spring, and that should cover the taxes. I ran it by my dad, who is a budget and money genius, always shuffling money around to save him the most he can. And he said it was a great idea, good for me to think ahead like that. Well when any dad says stuff like that, a girl is awfully proud of herself. (just hope the idea works!)
  • Government grants. Possibly food stamps? Well my mom, who is also a saver, was poking around on some sites and thought that it was possible for me to get food stamps. Now some people may be to proud or find it embarrassing, but shit ladies, if we don't claim it, someone else will. I know I sure paid into it all those years I worked. So we will see. I will post more as I find out.
  • Spike has a flat head, well kinda, enough that it bothers Spaghetti and he wants to go to this cranial place to see if he needs a helmet. Spikes ped. suggested him. Sigh. I am not excited about this at all. I know it's not my fault, but I don't really like talking about it. It bothers me that he has to wear this thing. And now reading through the site, I am not looking forward to all the drama, crying, and not sleeping that may come with this helmet. But again, I need to be an adult, and take care of my Spike bestest I can.
  • I also need to check our bank accounts, mail out Baptism Thank You's, do laundry, fold and put away more clothes (still got those bags in Spikes closet) feed and entertain children... ya know, the adult stuff.

Hope you all have a great day. I am actually having a good day, and I just started my coffee! So hopefully I can accomplish some things today!

Questions, questions

I was visiting Kristin over at The Way It Is, and I found this fun bunch of questions... thought I would play...

The Questions:

My proudest moment in parenting was...
When I am holding Spike, and Bagel comes to sit in my lap too. I smile to myself, and am grateful every time that I have the two most amazing and beautiful kids. And that Spaghetti and I made them. Makes me proud.

My most humbling parent moment was...
When postpartum hit me with Spike. It was rough with Bagel, but even harder when I was already taking care of a two year old, but now a new born. And I had to call my MIL for help. I am a VERY strong, supermom, I always say I don't need anyone to help. I can do it myself. I get this bull headed attitude because Spaghetti is working 3 jobs, and when he is around he just gets to visit with the kids for a few minutes some days. So I can't bear to ask him to help me.

As a parent, I'm great at...
Multi-tasking. I can make oatmeal, prep a bottle, make my coffee, and Spaghetti's breakfast to go, all while talking to Aerial on the phone, and ironing clothes at the same time. I got mad skills.

My meltdown-prevention tactic is...
First off, is this prevention for me, or the kids? I really do need meltdown prevention for myself. I usually go hide in the bathroom, or in the summer I go out to the back of the yard and climb up the swing set fort with a magazine. (this only works when Spaghetti is home)

Oh, so if you meant the meltdown prevention was for the kids? Well then, I try to foresee where things are going, if Bagel is whiny, then I know she will be starving soon, and screaming as if she is missing a limb, so I starter the wagering with snacks if we are out. Spike is pretty easy. Clean, fed and rested, are the tactics for him.

My favorite moment of the day is...
7:15 pm. Everyone is in bed, and I am standing in the hallway, finally time to breathe. And I also enjoy the chaotic mornings, it maybe insane around here. But I love all of us together.

I've started_______ a thousand times.
Purging toys and too small clothes!

Mornings are always smoother when...
I have had my coffee.

Hope you enjoyed! Play along if you want!

A big test. I barely passed.

Why am I the bad guy?

Why don't you sleep in bed?

Why do you insist on sleeping in your chair or by the door?

Why do you yell "No! Not!"?

Why do you push me?

Why won't you let me give your brother attention, with out you yelling over me?

Why can't I have an adult conversation with Daddy with out you yelling over me?

Why do you throw yourself at your grandparents, but with me it's like... eh, just mom?

Why can't you be that excited to see me?

Why are you just so damn cute?

Because I'm the mommy, that's why. Because, I have to be the bad guy, since Daddy is always working, and I know for a fact that he would give anything to stay home and help me. But with the mortgage and bills, Daddy has to be gone at 2 jobs, and 3 in the summer. So I get to do everything. (yep, you just joined the Feisty pity party) Cleaning, teaching, feeding, caring, nursing boo boo's, all of it. (that includes cats, dogs too)

Because your the older child, and you need to have all the attention, it's just how we work. I guess your more excited to see your grandparents because you see me all day, every day, so you just get used to me being around.

I just sometimes need to stop and enjoy you, and just remember, that the housework can wait, and I need to just play with you. I feel like I am spending more time yelling, and arguing with you, then I am cuddling and playing with you. (I know that is the grandparents job, is to cuddle and play, and someday I can too with my grandkids. But I get jealous that they can drop everything and just play for a few days)

I want to just spend some time with your brother, just to play and watch him grow, but you only give me a few minutes with him and your yelling for me. It drives me insane!

Last night was a hard night for me. It's rare that my life makes me cry with frustration. You would not go to bed, you slept behind your door, and kicked the door, constantly. Your banging drove me to tears, so I called Spaghetti at work, I must have been to loud on the phone, and Spike woke up screaming, it was 11:15 at night. All I wanted to do was sleep.

After numerous attempt to put you back into bed, spray the monster spray, check for boogie men, and tuck you in. Only to have you bolt from your bed, right back to the door, kicking again.
I went to Spikes room to try and rock him back to sleep, but he was not having it.

Like I said, it's rare that the two of you can bring me to such frustration that I just run away crying. But coming down with a cold, and my jaw still is sore from the dentist on Monday, I took 2 pillows, my blanket and went down and slept in the basement t.v. room with the dogs till 4 am.

********************************************************************************

This morning all is good in the hood. Kids are happy. I had a talk with Bagel, asking her why she doesn't like her bed. What she likes about the corner by the door. (she has a night light, a flash light, her crib ocean wonders, and a white noise machine)

So I made her blankets into a quick tent this morning. And invited Bagel to come in with me. She loved it. I explained that I didn't like the dark, I sleep with my closet light on, and my head is always covered (yup, 30 and still doin' it) I then remembered that when I was a kid, and a teenager, I had one of those bed tents... soooo, I am thinking after I drop off the tots at Gramma and Grampa Mc's house today, I will be going to target to pick out a lovely bed tent!

And that is my last 12 hours. Oh and I woke up with a sore throat that makes gargling shards of glass sound fun. Super.

No. Thank you.

I am thankful for...

  • Myself. No really. I like who I am, and for the most part where I am in my life. I like what I stand for and that I am a strong person.
  • Spaghetti. Of coarse I must mention my other half. The half of me that supports me, and I love his values and love for his family.
  • Bagel. Love her sassy attitude, her demanding, and charming ways. Her spirit and her energy. (it's alot like looking in a mirror)
  • Spike. This little man, steals more and more of my heart every day. I love his smile, his hugs (yes I know a 7 month old doesn't really "hug" but there hugs to me) I love his babbling, and his love for a good 12 hour nights sleep.
  • Ding and Dong. Lovem', can't live with out them. These two 70lb brindle boxer monkeys are my big babies. And I am thankful for there company and there endless love for me.
  • Thing 1 and Thing 2. How can you not love cats? I mean of coarse they barf, and pee on things, and scratch and bite, but seriously. I love to sit on the couch at night, with both my girls fighting for my lap.
  • Blogger. Yes may seem funny to most, but I am to assume the majority of my readers are bloggers themselves. Blogger is an escape, a place to empty my head, and just get it all out. And thanks to SITS, it's a place to meet other bloggers just like me, to make friends, and read that I am not going insane, that we are a lot more alike then we thought.
  • Aerial. Yes my one friend. I have many friends, but Aerial is like a sister to me. She listens, and well go back and read her birthday post for more, but she fits the words "best friend" like a BFF should.
  • Queen, Carrots and Frances. My family. Mom, Dad, and sister too. Love them, knowing that that was my original family of 4, I love to spend as much time with them as I can. Enjoying old memories as we create new ones.
  • Gramma and Grampa Mc. Or otherwise know as my IL's. Awesome people, of coarse since the made my Spaghetti, they are giving and loving. And I thank them for it.
  • Scuz. Surprised? You shouldn't be. She and I are kindred spirits, we are one in the same, finishing each others sentences. The fact that she is my favoritest cousin of all, but sadly the farthest away (not counting Maggie in Ireland) and as the economy eats through any airfare money either of us had. Visiting is hard. But I am Thankful for you Scuz. Muah.
  • Old friends. Mudd D Pimp, and Maternal Chandler, I gots mad love for these two. We have been around each others lives, in and out at times, but for the greater part of the last 25 years. Thanks ladies.

That is who, I am thankful for. Now for some random other things I am thankful for...

  • My Art room. My escape from reality, and my happy place. Yes my post-it note yellow basement.
  • The t.v. room. Again a basement room, the other 1/2. Filled with two overstuffed, love seat recliners, a flat screen t.v. and my Ding and Dong. Spaghetti's happy place
  • The loft. I love my loft, it is at the second floor, it is in between the kids rooms, over looking the front t.v. room, and open to the pool room in the back of the house. This room holds my dear computer, and is home to my cats Thing 1 and Thing 2.
  • Scrapbooking, a newer hobby that I have learned that I love.
  • Coffee. On which my sole survival on a day to day basis depends on.

I am sure there are a ton more. But that is all the time I have, I must go make stuffing, and head over to me Madre's house! Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I hope you have a happy and safe Holiday!

November 19th 2006

It was a cold November day, a Sunday. My parents called and asked if I wanted to meet them over at my cousins house. To visit with Gramma. She had been sick with a cold, and I was apprehensive with Bagel, since she was so young, I didn't want her to get sick too.

But I went, it had been a few weeks since I had seen Gramma, and I knew how she lit up when I would bring Bagel to see her. I remember sitting on the couch in Kim's front room, with Gramma, everyone else bsing in the kitchen.

Gramma just didn't want to take her eyes off Bagel. She was just amazed at her. Now in 90 years, 15 grandkids, almost just as many great grand kids, and Bagel being one of them, and she even had 3 great great grandkids, well I just didn't get the excitement over one more.

I do know that I was lucky to have Gramma around. Frances and I were the daughters of Gramma's baby boy. My dad was born to my Gramma when she was 34! And back in that day, you started with kids way earlier. So yeah, I don't think my dad was planned. She had already had a set of twin boys, and two girls.

So when my parents had me and Frances, it was like starting all over again for Gramma. Most of my cousins were around when my parent got married, some where in the wedding! And I am closer to my cousin's kids age, then my actual cousins.

Gramma lived just a few miles up the road. My one aunt lived in Florida, the other in Arizona (hi Scuz!) one of the twin uncles passed away 3 months before I was born, and the other uncle, well he did his own thing.

My dad and mom were always, and still are extremely close with family, and so every Sunday we would go to church, then to eat, then visit with my Gramma (Grampa too) all day.

My mom is a Holiday fanatic! She always decorates, and hosts some kinda food. So every Easter, 4th of July, Labor Day, Memorial Day, Birthday (cept her own, then my Gramma would cook) Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas eve and Day. Gramma would be over.

It's true I didn't realize how lucky I was to always have Gramma around, until she was gone. It makes me happy that she was able to meet Bagel. She was staying with my aunt in Florida when she was born, but was home to see her just a few days after she was born.

Gramma loved to see Bagel, and my parents just moved to there new house in the woods. My Gramma loved to stay with my parents, and if Bagel was staying over even better! 6 months of Bagels life my Gramma loved and cooed over her.

I know that Gramma is happy now. She missed my Grampa John, and after 90 years, she was good to go. Being as young as I am it was hard for me to let her go. I know that I didn't have as many years as my cousins did, but the years I had were full of her.

Years that I hope I never forget. I will always talk to Bagel and Spike about there Great Gramma A. And there Great Gramma W., Grampa John, and Great Gramma Mc. It's important to talk and remind your kids about family.

I don't talk about Gramma with sobs and tears, and it has taken two years to really grasp that she is gone, and it's ok. Life goes on, and with some pretty kick ass angels watching over us, It's going to be all right.

Thanks for the memories Gramma. You living to 90, just shows me that 30... well 30 is just 1/3 of what you did in your life time. I can't wait for the other 60. You are loved and greatly missed, (damn it, I wasn't going to cry...) I love you.

Miss you.

J.

This is going to give me diarrhea...

yeah... it's 2:27 am... yeah, Bagel is just laying down... ummmm.... the schedule was kinda effed up today.

All up at 7 am

Nap at 3 pm (way late! Usually 1!)

Spike slept until 9 pm, just got Spaghetti ready for work... so I was up with him,

Fell asleep in Spikes rocker with him, till 11 pm, I was woken by Bagel calling me...

I was exhausted, so I set up myself and Bagel in the front t.v. room, I crashed on the couch...

Being woken for probably the zillionth time by "Appuu, Appuu, Mommy!! So I dragged my ass of the couch at 1:45 am and cut us up an apple to eat.

Called Spaghetti at work, Bagel wanted to tell him this... "Hi Daddy, Mommy's change my butt, then I go sweep. I got a treat (witch doll), and a cactus (cactus doll) oh and my monkey (monkey pillow) ok now, night Daddy" stares at phone, then makes ticky noise (she's tired)

Too cute, that was all one big sentence. Spaghetti said it made his night. Since the economy is in the hole, the casino business at 2 in the morning is a bit like watching paint dry.

So I of coarse notice that after 2 am here in the Central Time Zone, I can roll call for The Secret is in the Sauce!

Well, here's hopin' the tots sleep in. But it's highly doubtful, I have the coffee pot set to go at 8:45 and that is hoping we sleep in...

goo-night.

(Note to Maternal Mirth. You Heart Dong, and yes she still asks about the nice crazy lady who played ball at 2 am on the frosty deck, that by they way has snow on it.)
(and I am finishing this blog at 2:44 am, and Bagel is up crying... this is not fun. Not that any of you think it is... but... just so yaknow... I am going to go kennel the dogs, lock up, or go OCD and recheck the locks for the 30th time tonight, and hope that Bagel passes out before I come back up... well if I can't sleep there is always Breaking Dawn... over half way through it. LOVE IT! Can't wait till, Saturday at noon! My date with Frances, Aerial and Aerial's sister Lu... now I am babbling... blah, blah, blah... yeah, yeah, goo night again...)
(oh and if I don't sleep soon, the water I drank, and the jacked up schedule with make me get diarrhea... stupid I know... but nothing like falling asleep on the cold porcelain with a good book, and ring around the butt, just too fart a bunch... ya know...)
(must leave, computer, giving TMI...)

Grumpy Frumpy! Happy Snappy!

I love you.
I love you more then words could even attempt. I love you to the moon and back an infinite amount of times, I love you more then there are grains of sand in the oceans of the world, and I love you more then there are stars in the universe.
Spike. I love you.
I seem to be weaker when I am around you. Your sister cried, fussed, but you. Your just a helpless little man, that I just can't say no to. I don't favor you over your sister. But I do cherish you and your charming little man ways.
I worry about you. Your father wants to call the specialist on your head. See you turn it, to the left all the time. Kinda a lazy thing. Your sister did the exact same thing. But she out grew it. And at almost 7 months, you still do it, and your head is flatter because of it. They have a special helmet for you to wear. I just get so upset by it. I know Spaghetti wants you to be as normal as possible, so if this will help your head be normal, so you are just like everyone else. Then so be it.
But it just drives me insane. I know there is nothing wrong with you, that tons of kids where these things. And that I should thank every star in that universe for your flawless ways. But it just kills me, and makes me want to protect you, and smother you even more.
I went to lay him down to bed tonight. He fussed, and bit his lower lip. I thought reading his favorite book would make him happy.
I was reading you "Grrumpy Frumpy! Happy Snappy!" book, you love the little monsters in this book (Target $1 bin!) and I just melted. I was just absorbed in the moment of just you and me. Reading this book to you. I watched you paw at your book. I wondered, what it must be like to not even know what a book was, or to see you look in the mirror, and in awe you are just amazed at that little creature in front of you.
Simple things that we take for granted, that Spike doesn't even know what they are, or do. His innocence is amazing to me. And just the more reason to want to watch every second of his life.
I love you. More then anything. You and Bagel. You are my life.
Thank you.

Playgirl called...

I know I promised more of Spike's 6 month pictures. Is this not the cutest thing? He looks like he's posing for Playgirl!! LOVE. IT!

Comment on comments and some other news

You left me funny Comment Love and so I respond...

Kristen, sorry you missed dinner. We had BBQ ribs and fries. Yummy! Maybe next time!

Chandler, aka Maternal Mirth, yes Twilight has captured me. And yes I would shit myself if you and Pimp Mudd came by. Especially since your about 1,981 miles away. That would be one hell of a hike just to check on me.

And Maternal Chandler, I love how you keep fucking around with the combination of D. Pimp's name... kinda fun...

So today was insane, fun but insane. My in laws were by for the Bears game, we had lunch, then I stole just the one Spike, and we went to the Baptism party for my good friends son Gavin. (on a side note, Gavin is 4 months, and he is 17 lbs! Holy shit, that is one big effing baby! Spike is 6 1/2 months and just 14 lbs!!) I left Bagel home with dad, and Gramma and Grampa Mc.

The party was nice, a surprise that so many of my old friends were there. They all live a few hours drive away so I didn't think they would make it. Mateo (close friend from H.S.) and wife, Sara, were in from Indiana, and Jess and Shaun (my best friends from H.S.) were in with there daughter Joli (Bagels age)

It was nice bringing up old memories, talking and laughing.

After I came home we ordered dinner, and then my In laws had enough of us, so the left. I know it was a long day, but they were out of town, and haven't seen the kids in almost 2 weeks! That is eternity to them!!

Fun and busy day. Now I shall go chill, and read with my Spaghetti.

Are you chewing on my hair?

The battle for mommy continues.
When I play with Spike, Bagel whines. When I play with Bagel, Spike cries.

(Bagel and Spike playing nice... at the moment)

When I sit by Ding. Dong give me that look. When I play with Dong, Ding comes over sits on my lap (all 60 lbs) and pushed Ding away.

(Ding in the back, Dong right up front, at Queen and Carrots big ass yard)

And normally Thing 1 and Thing 2 don't fight over me. But now that Thing 3 is staying with us for the week, she thinks that I am hers. Well Thing 1 has some news for her. At this moment, as I type this, Thing 3 is sitting between me and the keyboard.

(Lucy in the sun)
And thing one is sitting on the back of my chair, chewing on my hair. Thing 2 is confident that I love her, and is claiming the cat tower.

(Thing 1 in the grey fur suit, and Thing 2 in the stripped tiger suit)

I feel the love here. What better then to be needed by so many creatures at once? And Spaghetti wonders why I need to run away some days. (Usually to scrapbook those I just ran away from!) No really as insane as it gets around her, I really love all the furry and not so furry children I have, that fight for me. I know I have 2 children, but I am the proud mom of 6 (7 this week)

Love you all, Mommy.

Spike!

Oh there is more, a few more... well like 5 more... I didn't want to overload you all with the cutest pictures on the planet. So I thought I would start with my favorite one... I will share more later! My Spike is so damn cute! Muah!

Toast to Thursday

Since I missed Tuesday here is a Toast to Thursday! Still the same, just everything I am happy for today!
  • It's sunny outside!
  • Spaghetti is taking Bagel for a long ride so I can possibly get stuff done (or stare at the walls)
  • The adorable pictures of Spike from his 6 month pictures we did on Tuesday are awesome! Yes but Babies-r-us did not email them to me. Bastards. I need to get them, so I can share them!!
  • I feel good. (I felt shitty the last few days)
  • Tomorrow is Halloween!
  • My desk is 1/2 clean. I feel good about it.
  • I have the urge to purge (stuff around the house)
  • I am excited about Thanksgiving with my family and Spaghetti's family being together this year!!
  • I am excited about the November Dauber Diva meeting! I am showing chip board and some fun uses, and the new Country Living Ornament Kit! Yikes!
  • Speaking of I need to make 3D's to swap! Convention style!
  • I also need to prep for my Big Shot stamp camp, and the Crazy for Christmas Stamp camp!
  • I am excited about the above, because I love what I do!

Ok, ok enough of the perky. I know you non morning, half awake people are flipping the bird to your monitors right now. I understand.

My sister had these p.j.'s she wore often. It had three cows on the front. (all standing like humans) one (I would guess as myself) was all cheery and smiley. The other two were frowny and getting ready to pour coffee over the perky cows head. And in quote "Punish the Perky" was below it.

It happens. Some of us are just a bit more cheerful, see the glass half full, and well lets just say I have my helmet on for you perky punishers out there! Happy Thursday! I am off to clean, take care of kids, and drink an insane amount of coffee!!

Get out of the way!

Get out the dumpster, the shredder and the garbage bags. I have yet to have my coffee, I slept in (9 am!) and I feel good. (better then the last few days)

So Spaghetti made me an offer. He has only his night job tonight, and he has to go to his parents to pick up Thing 3. (there cat, they are in sunny and hot Arizona for the next 10 days) so he said when he gets up. He will take Bagel with him (45 minutes one way baby!) and they will hang out there so I can get stuff done.

Now while my instincts tell me to shove both Bagel and Spike at him. I know that I should be lucky it's just down to one kid here with me. Hoping Spike will nap and or play in his bouncer.

It is cold out, but crazy sunny. I think that puts me in a good mood. Well off to do my morning routine, and start to declutter!
