not conventional; not bound by or conforming to convention, rule, or precedent; free from conventionality: an unconventional artist; an unconventional use of material.
I asked Spaghetti in one word to describe me. I said, Fiesty (hence the name on the blogosphere) or Random. He said let me think about it...
About 10 minutes later, he said "Your unconventional" Not quite getting the definition right away, he saw the puzzled look. And said that "You don't play by the rules. Your not a rule breaker, you just do your own thing. All the time. And if the rules happen to fall in along the way so be it. But you just do your own thing. That's all"
I thought for a minute. And then asked "So wearing fingerless gloves in the winter, and wearing fun socks, holding a conversation but midsentace sing along with my favorite part of a song on the radio and right back again to the conversation is unconventional?"
"Yep. You got it." Spaghetti said.
I thought some more and said "So then the one word to describe you would be predictable right? I mean not that your not fun, but I can usually tell what your going to do, or say for the most part. I think it's important for me to have you in my life. To balance me out. Otherwise with two unconventional people, we would be all over the place!"
Spaghetti smiles and says "Yes dear, that is me. Sleep, eat, work, watch t.v., that is me." I replied "and that is why I love you Spaghetti"
(which the I love you then springs a rendition of Barney's "I love you song" from Bagel in the back seat)
I have to also comment that the synonyms for unconventional are... atypical, bizarre, crazy, eccentric, far-out*, freakish, freaky, free and easy, idiosyncratic, individual, individualistic, informal, irregular, kinky*, kooky, nonconformist, oddball*, offbeat, off the beaten track, off the wall, original, out in left field, out of the ordinary, uncommon, uncustomary, unique, unorthodox, unusual, way-out, weirdo*
*informal words
And my oh my, do those words explain me!
