My neighbor. Yes I know you should talk badly about other mothers, it's how they choose to raise there kids... blah blah blah... I have been wanting to discuss Across the Street Mom for some time now.
She seems very nice. But her parenting skills are not, well what I would do. Or most moms for that matter if they cared about the safety of there children. Want some examples? I would take pictures, but it's kinda creepy if the neighbor is taking pictures of kids from inside her house (not like she would notice)
I just finished opening the front curtains, tied them back to see Across the Street Kid in the middle of the street with a huge sweep broom (the garage kind) sweeping the leaves into the street. Um... I don't live on a very busy street, but as some know it curves, and it's easy to have a blind spot here and there.
Oh I forgot to mention, Across the Street Mom is 42, Husband is whatever age (he's nice to look at though) Daughter from previous marriage is 18, and son is 4.
Now from what I just read in my Family F*un magazine kids really don't get the idea of crossing the street until they are 10 years old. So I am guessing playing in the street is out of the equation?
Here are some more prime examples of what not to do...
She does whatever she does inside her house, to ignore the fact that her son is NEVER in her yard. He is always wandering the street, oh and 4 houses down is a pond. (she often finds him throwing rocks in) and that is just about 200 feet from a major road in town.
Too many times I have seen her go out looking for him. Asking neighbors if they have seen him... um, yeah... and the Driveway Neighbor a few doors down, sadly gets stuck with him ALL THE TIME! She has her kids outside, and so Across the Street Kid goes there to play. EVERY DAY.
He dodges in and out from between the cars parked on the street, plays by himself in the street, goes for walks on his own. It's just not right.
Yes I know, it's not my kid, or my business. But I wanted to blog about this for the longest time. I get freaked out if I am in the garage with Mia, and she goes by the front porch, I mean you can't trust ANYONE (hello, can we say new blog?!?)
So maybe I will chalk it up to she moved her 2 years ago from a very small town, this too is a small town but we live in suburbia, so houses are close, and we shit. Don't trust anyone, people. I fear for the day her kid ends up kidnapped or in the pond. Maybe a leash or a harness system... maybe an electric fence...
The Boss.

Its not right. She does get worst mom of the year for sure.
Come on either your oblivious to the world or too drugged up on something to let this happen.
Its a matter of time and DCFS may be called on her. People don't take that stuff lightly.
And the innocent person that may accidently run this kid over will be at fault.
This reminds me to slow the hell down in your neighborhood and keep watch for this kid.
Im lovin the princess ariel. Now if I only had two side kicks, well and a mermaid tail I would rock.
Thanks Bagel.
