Every day that Spaghetti has available, when he isn't sleeping and working constantly. He takes the time to do an elbow dance with Bagel.
This elbow dance is done to one song. Coldplays "Viva La Vida" Spaghetti picks up Bagel, she sits on his one hip, the dance, hop and spin around the kitchen. The elbow part is because Spaghetti first taught Bagel to put her fist in the air and raise her arm up and down to the song. She then called it the elbow dance. And that's what it is.
I sit and I watch, I love to dream, and to know that years from now they will still do it. Some day she will be to cool to do this, and then years later she will realize that she needs her Dad and the elbow dance.
There will be a Wedding Day, that I will be there in my fancy dress with Spike by my side, as we watch Spaghetti and Bagel dance the father daughter dance to "Viva La Vida" possibly joining in at the end. Of coarse there usually is tears by me, because I see memories, I see the future, I see what I always wanted. Family of my own, and memories forever. Not just for me, but for all 4 of us.
Spaghetti asked me the other day, if I thought Bagel would remember this dance. I said of coarse she will, because we will always do it. It will become tradition that Spaghetti and Bagel do this dance.
I love the fact that they have a song, that they dance to the song, and that they laugh, and enjoy the few minutes each day that they have together. Thanks for the memories, Spaghetti and Bagel. Feisty loves you.

That makes me get all teary eyed. I can remember long ago my Dad teaching me to do the jitter bug dance. We used to listen to the Rockin Oldies every Saturday night and do it all in the kitchen under the light of the overhead light on our stove.
That is a memory that I will ALWAYS have no matter what. I hope that Bagel will keep this memory with her always!!! :-)
It was hard not to cry while watching them dance the elbow dance. She is so happy.
I hear the song on the radio and all I can think of is their dance.
She may not remember this young but she will always do it and be able to look at pics when she was this young.
Don't you just love that kind of sweet relationship? I bet you guys are in trouble when she starts dating! Good luck with that.
Another reason to love Coldplay! Bagel and Spike are lucky to have such cool and loving parents.
Congrats on being saucy! Love your site.
That is so cute. And you're right, she will go through that phase where her parents are dorks, but then she'll come back to it and Spaghetti will be her best friend and the elbow dance will resurface once more!
That's a great memory they're building.
Happy Sits day!
Father-daughter moments are precious. The Husband melts my heart when he's with The Girl. They're so cute together.
BTW - love that song!
Happy SITS day!
Awwwww! That's sweet!!!! I love that song!
What a wonderful tradition.
Oh my, this is a sweet post. My dad passed away when I was 7 and I can vividly remember standing on his shoes and dancing with him. This will always be special for you.
That's awesome...we love that song here too...
Happy SITS day!
Awwwwww - this post is so sweet!
So sweet! We all love that song too... when it comes on the radio in the car Graham makes me turn it up REALLY loud.
Crying before 8 a.m.? Wow!
That's beautiful - and she'll rememeber. Afterall, it's her special thing with Daddy. What could be better?
Happy SITS day!
Aw that's sweet...I remember my Grandfather and I had something like that...he would grab me and rub his stubly beard over my cheek...ouch, but I loved it..lol.
Little traditions like this are the best. :)
Awwwww... that's so neat! I wish my girls had that kind of connection with their dad.
awwww that totally made me tear up. How sweet!
Very sweet post!
Love it! We have our little traditions and ritual silliness around here and sometimes I get a little choked up, too, thinking about how I know we'll still be doing them years (decades) from now...
Especially the ones that are really embarrassing for the children. That's pretty much why we started most of them in the first place.
:^) Anna
It's cool that they have their own dance!
Aww, father/daughter memories are so tender, especially to the mamas, I think. I love the little rituals my daughter and my hubby share too.
Don't you just LOVE making family memories like that. - she will get "too old to do THAT" one day (you know those awkward tween years that lie ahead....) but she will always remember it!!.......besides, what great ammo to embarrass her with during those years! LOL
And yes, then will come a day(like her wedding day) that she will once again cherish that dance!!
Enjoy!

Those father-daughter moments just melt my heart.
Very sweet! And isn't it fun to watch your husband be such a fun and tender daddy! Nice song choice too!
My husband and two boys will always have Johnny Cash's "Ring of Fire." It make me all misty when I hear it...who would've thought.
How funny! I always thought my dad & I would dance to Born to be Wild (apparently my favorite song as a tot)...we didn't. It was traditional and still very sweet.
PS I love your hair! And your pictures/descriptions of your fam. Very original.
That is so great. We dance around with our little all the time, and we know it will be a tradition :D I think dancing and fun and silliness are a lot of what keeps people sane...
What a sweet tradition, I'm sure she'll remember it always and dance often.
That is so neat. And a good idea. One day when I have a little girl (because I will:), my hubby and her will have dance. That is too sweet!
*Awe* I don't have any little girls that can share something quite this special with their daddy, but I do have to little boys that love to dance with their mama. We rock out! Their current faves:
All Along the Watchtower - Dave Matthews Version
Gwen Stefani - Sweet Escape? I'm not sure of the name. The one that says Woo Hoo... Wee HOO. That's their favorite part.
Sugarland - Baby Girl because it says that dreams come true (Oldest one picked that out)
Sugarland again - Down in Mississippi and up to no good - because that is how we roll in Mississippi. :-)
That is such a sweet post. I love when Dad's create special moments with their kids.
What a sweet post. You will need to keep your blog up for MANY years so you can post pictures from the wedding and these two doing the elbow dance!
Too adorable. I can just picture it and it makes me smile.
Happy SITS day!
thats really sweet. I wish I shared something like that with my dad.
Thanks for the little reminder that it's not only moms who have a special bond with their little girls.Dads have them too.
The father daughter bond is so wonderful. That is cute that you see the future and how great it is going to be.
I have two boys so I can't dream of a father daughter dance but maybe someday a mother/son dance. Of course my husband doesn't dance and my boys act just like him so I might as well hang up that dream.
very cute!
I wonder about those things. If they'll remember all the fun we've (they) had.
Awww! there is nothing like the relationship between daddy and daughter.
Your daughter has the cute elbow dance. . .my daughter has the "then I will" game--where they try to one up each other, threatening to do all kinds of destructive things to each others things. . oh, the good memories they are making!
That is just awesome! What a fun tradition. :)
Daddy daughter traditions are the best.
I love that Hubby does all those special daddy and daughter things with my girls....
I used to dance on my daddy's feet and we did it at my wedding and I was 32!!
You never outgrow these special moments.
congrats on your SITS feature
There is nothing better than father/daughter moments. My dad and I are very close and I love all the memories I have of the things we've done together. This is something she will always have.

omg- i welled up as i read this one! what a fantastic tradition. so she's got great taste in halloween AND music???@!
Okay, that post needed a Kleenex Warning - so sweet and I'm in tears.
(Of course, I'm also majorly PMSing, so that might've tipped me over the edge....)
What a wonderful, sweet thing to make a memory of - I wish for you the exact dream of your hubby and daughter dancing at her wedding some day to that song. So, so sweet.
Thanks for sharing such a lovely post! :)
Cheers!
Those will be treasured memories for her, I'm sure...
So sweet, I am all choked up!
Of course she will remember it.. and pass it on to her kiddos.
Oh, that is so sweet! My Dad used to sing me a song, and I have in turn taught it to my kids. This reminds me that I haven't done it in a while. I think I'll sing it with them tonight.... My 14 year old may look at me a little funny, though. But that's okay!
Great post!
THat is so sweet!
oh how fun! I love that they have a special "thing." Here's hoping the video of the wedding is something that grandchildren of grandchildren are able to see!
Aweeeee so sweet!!
I love it! I so hope my hubby and I can create such special memories with our children. My daddy memory is singing "Phantom of the Opera" at the top of our lungs- my dad using his best opera voice.
Dancing wasn't really a skill of ours. :)
The names you have for your husband and kids are hilarious.
I LOVE Viva La Vida & Coldplay. I love that your husband and daughter dance together. The elbow dance. Just adorable.
*sniffle*
Beautiful post!
too choked up to think of anything else to write :)
I love this story. I think family times like this are the most important thing in the world. And believe me, it's those simple times with mom and dad that kids remember most! Happy SITS Day!!!!
That is so sweet! And what special memories for you and your family. It will be so special to them as she continues to grow.
That's so sweet! I'm sure the dance is something she'll treasure forever!
Very cute story. I have many memories of my kiddos in the same light.
Very sweet! If she remembers it or not is up to you as a family, for sure.

I remember my Father/Daughter dances. Crap... now I'm crying!
30 comments! ACK! i tried to comment earlier and there were 4... computer crashed, now i am so far down the list :( OH well.
I love this cute story. my munchkins LOVE wrestling with their daddy every night in the living-room. can't quite picture that on the wedding day though! have a great day (came over from SITS)
That gave me goosebumps. It's so true!! I'm glad you take time to cherish those moments.
Very sweet post. On days when my two little girls make me pull my hair out, I remember to take a deep breath and look at the bigger picture...as you have done here. Very nice.
That's great! I love hearing posts like this.:)
AW, that's so cute! She'll always remember!
Aah - Daddys and Daughters - so sweet!
I'm the one that dances with the kids, pick them up (well, number 1 is too big to pick up now) whirl them around and dip them. They love it. But Dad does the monster tackle on their beds at night. He stomps slowly down the hall so they can hear him coming, with his hands in claws. They giggle "No Daddy, I've just gotten my teddies arranged" then he tackles them while they squeal, "No,no." One time he stomped but didn't tackle because they were saying no, and you should have seen the disappointed looks on their faces.
This mother of daughters just teared up!
I love it!
Cheryl
It is so sweet to see the bond between Daddy and daughter, and to know how important it will be to her life. And to see them dance! Oh! And I have to say, that song makes me want to dance too!
My now 8 yr old used to dance with her dad every day when he got home from work to an Elmo (puke) song. She was about 1 when it started, 2 when it ended. She still remembers it!
Awww~ what a sweet picture & hope for the future.
I suddenly have the urge to call my Dad. Guess I'm to old to stand on the tops of his shoes, but it is nice to remember.
Sorry no blogger id.

How cute! That sounds so sweet. I'm sure that will be a great memory for her when she gets older.
We have a "kitchen dance" at our house that involves Dad and both kids. Being parents together gives me new reasons to love my husband all the time. Priceless! And a big YEA for Bagel!
He is really creating great memories there! What a great daddy! Oh, excuse me....I gotta wipe this last tear away.
That was a really sweet post!
Hi, came via SITS. My girls have little songs that they sing like that, 'Our House is a very very very fine house' is the favorite at present. Good memories!
How adorable! I happen to like that song, too!
Kids come up with the cutest stuff...and then they grow up :D
What a great story and wonderful for both of them that they can spend time together like that! Thanks for sharing!
Hugs, Bebe :)
I love traditions, as small and silly as some may be. I love being able to say "we've been doing this for years."
How sweet that they have such an adorable tradition. Too cute, glad I stopped over from SITS. :D
Aw, very sweet!
Happy SITS day!
