Between my beloved Thing 1 (grey) and Thing 2 (tiger) being on team #1
And this handsome little devil, Spike, is contestant #2.
Now my issue. It is that all pissing is happening in Spikes crib. Spike is just a wee man, at 5 months and 3 weeks. So even though he is in his super absorbent diapers, he still soakies the crib almost every night.
Now for T1 and T2, they have other motives to pissing in Spikes bed. Not because there poo box is dirty, but I do believe they are bitter that there nice warm sun room is off limits most of the day. When Spike is napping, or sleeping at night. T1 and T2 are not allowed in.
So I do believe they are unhappy furry campers, and now reside to pissing in Spikes crib, yes it is away from furniture, and the rail is up. It's just sometimes I feel that they won't piss in there today, so I give them some sun time. Sigh, yes there is a big "Sucker" written across my head.
And yet again today not one, not two but three small cat piss spots. Now I change the bed, wash down the mattress, and put it back again. Oh and if you have never changed a baby crib. Let me just tell you it's not just rip off the old sheet and on with the new.
Oh no. First there is the untying of the bumper (yes I love my bumper) out of 12 ties to undo, I manage to get by with only undoing 8. Pull back bumper, flip hanging toys, pull out pissed on mattress. (the only way, that beast is tight in there!) Remove sheet, wash down mattress. Then we put on new sheet. Fix over rated crib skirt, put mattress back in tight ass space of a crib. Fuck I just jacked up the over rated crib skirt. Adjust it again. Now that over rated crib skirt is fixed, mattress is in, now we put the bumper back in. Retie all 8 fucking ties. Then flip the hanging toys back in. And move the crib back to original space.
Right. Do that once a day, and you kinda get tired of the old pissing match. If it ain't a kid, it's a pet.
So you got any advice for me? Oh, getting rid of T1 and/or T2, injuring them, or anything negative about my cats is not an option. I love them as kids, and will continue to clean up after them. I am looking for a deterrent that will be safe for Spike, yet keep away the cats.

What about a crib tent? I know a lot of moms that use them. I wish that I would have gotten one when Bailey was little. She started jumping, yes jumping, out of her crib at 18 months so we just moved her to a bed. A lot of moms will get the crib tent to keep kids safely inside and pets safely out. Good luck! I absolutely HATE the smell of cat pee. That would drive me nuts!!
The only thing that stopped Graycie from her pissing contest was Prozac. Seriously, don't you remember.

PROZAC. Then they will be happy kitties whether they like it or not.
I know I dont have cats but I hate taking that flippin mattress out. And my other half doesn't understand why I make a big deal of it... obviously he has never changed the sheets. grrr....
Can I just say that I had to do a double take at Thing 1...I swear that is my cat Chesney...LOL I think I have Thing 1's twin here...wanna set up a play date? LOL
Ain't changing the crib sheets a
b*tch?? How the mattress fits in there I will never know!!
Oh the kitty pissin problem, right! Ummm, try a "keep off the furniture spray" for pets on the floor around the crib...Good luck!
I hated changing crib sheets. Hated it like nothing else. And Wee One went through a "pee through the diaper everynight" stage.
I would suggest a crib tent. I think they look a little creepy though.
I just don't know what to say. :-)
Why do animals feel it necessary to be boogers like that!!!! :-)
The crib tent was going to be my suggestion too.
I feel your pain--I spend many hours washing sheets because I have a great Dane who occasionally leaks in her sleep---now that can leave a puddle!~
I had a cat that peed on anything white or lite colored.....She even peed on my mop!!!
I gave her to my mom to be an outside barn cat. It was sad but i was sick of smelling cat pee.
