Chisle our way in.

So yesterday was snow, snow, and some snow.

Spaghetti and I go out around 4 while kids are snoozing, and shovel (mind you the sun is pretty much gone by now)

Snowblower. Piece o' shit, won't start. Spaghetti shoveling, and the damn shovel breaks. WTF.

I go next door and borrow Chris' two shovels.

I decide to clean up one side of the garage and get at least the truck in the garage, because let me tell you loading a 2 1/2 year old and an infant carrier into a car, surrounded by a foot of snow, and glass like ice. We've already slipped a few times, Bagel completely wiped out onto her back once (thank god for the 5 layers of clothes for padding) I have no grass either to stand on. It is solid ice. Solid)

(let me just say this is from Friday, when we had the first ice storm. Now there is about 11" more snow and ice on top. But just to show you how thick the ice is. Spaghetti and I walked back and forth on this all morning. No footprints. Solid ice. )

I cleaned out the garage, super. Go hop into the truck. The truck does not go forward into the garage, it goes backwards down the ice drive way. Fuck.

No traction. at. all. The tires were spinning, and we got the truck up to 80 mph and still going no were.

We were determined and now instead of snow it was sleeting on us (for those of you, sleet is tiny ice balls at rain speed, hitting you in the face) that we were going to get the truck into the garage.

We grabbed hammers. And went at the driveway. (the other day we used the hammer to get at the truck)

Just where the tires were, hoping for some sort of traction. About 2" of solid ice. 40 minutes later, the truck is in.

Oh and when the Village plows the street, the make a small mountain at the end of our driveway. So you better fucking floor it on the way out!

This morning was wonderful! 35 degrees is like a heat wave right now, and it melted most of the streets, with the plows clearing the way.

Since then it has snowed, and sleeted some more, what a way to start winter. Oh and I feel like someone beat me, from the shoveling and chiseling at the driveway.

Merry Christmas again!
