Vent on Scrapbooking.

I know Scrapbooking is a very laid back, work at your own pace kinda hobby. That is not why I am venting. I know how to scrapbook, I enjoy it. And I do it often.

My vent is on my Christmas present from Spaghetti. He is giving me 2 nights and 3 days to a Scrapbook getaway with 5 of my friends.

I found this place, we are going Valentines weekend, booked, made our down payments, and I am "Julie Cruise Director" so I am the contact person.

I found this place in August, at the Scrapbook Expo. I booked them in September, and spoke again with them in late October about our date.

I got a call Monday night from one of the owners. They overbooked...

Let me explain this place, they have 3 bedrooms. Two of the bedrooms hold 3 people. (6 guests) and the "Pajama Party Room" holds 6 (our group) I am told that another group of 6 is booked for the same weekend.

So not quite sure where in the last few weeks I was booked over. But they called politely asking if we would just send 3 of us, since there are 3 beds available, or maybe if we could reschedule ourselves to either Christmas or Mothers Day weekend...

I calmly told them Monday I would get back to them, I needed to talk to the other girls. After hours of calling and talking things out. We all figured we are all only available V-Day weekend. So I called, twice, and emailed both owners that we needed that weekend or we need our deposits back, so we can rebook somewhere else.

I called back Tuesday. The talked to the other group Wednesday, they are now discussing the option of rescheduling themselves. It's now Thursday. I want to know NOW, so we can rebook somewhere else.

Am I being pushy? I just want to get my money back, so we can move on, or I want to know if we have the place.

Not fun. So that is my vent, I am trying to be realistic here, and look at other places, because I am sure we will get hosed. Tisk Tisk, word of mouth will not be good for this place...
