Do you smell what I smell?

I must say that when a friend comes over for the first time, and tells me another day, in front of all of our friends, that my house smells good. (And not just because I was hosting a candle party) And that she would have never guessed that I had animals by the smell, and that I don't smell like an "animal owner" either. Was a HUGE compliments. Since my house has...

One of these...

One of these...

And then there's these two...

I am ALWAYS cleaning. Always. It's a never ending chase to the fur ball tumbleweeds that float down the stairs, or the piles of fur that accumulate in the corners. If it's not the hair, then it's the litter box, or the barfing, and the food, and the.... well it's alot.

It is alot, but let me explain how they all got here. Real quick...

We bought our first house, and I needed a cat, yes needed. I grew up with cats, and when we lived in the condo for 2 years, we didn't have a cat. So my need for cat fur, and litter boxes were on an all time high. Thing 1 was mine!

Soon after, we got a fence, then we bought Haley (not pictured) some of you have read the long story on Haley, she passed away from the Parvo Virus. Long story short, the douche bag that we bought Haley from, would only give us a replacement dog. After a long week of wondering if we would do a dog again... we did... and that is how Ding came to us.

After a little over a year, Ding seemed lonely, so we got her Dong, a runt from a litter. She was what was left. Of coarse I love the cute little saggy eye, and the fact that she was smaller then everyone else in the plastic swimming pool.

Well now Thing 1 was lonely, so my local vet guilt tripped me into Thing 2. (they were going to send her off to a place that would probably put her down in a few weeks) my heart just couldn't take it.

And there you have it. That is not counting my dear Iguana, Charlie Ignatious who passed away 3 years ago, and Rosalita my box turtle, that passed away 2 years ago.
(Baby Bagel just 8 months here!)

So that is the family of fur and scales. I love them dearly, like they are my own kids. But the upkeep is just insane! So for a friend to tell me that my house does not smell (she is NOT an animal lover at all) that was very encouraging for me to hear.

Thanks B!

(Aren't they just too damn cute?? Aren't they??)
